इसके अलावा उन्होंने अधिकारियों को, दिल्ली में स्थापित सभी वर्षा जल संचयन संरचनाओं की कुल क्षमता का व्यापक आकलन करने के भी निर्देश दिए हैं, ताकि भविष्य की योजना, भूजल बढ़ाने तथा दीर्घकालिक जल संरक्षण प्रयासों के लिए, एक सुदृढ़ आधार स्थापित हो जा सके।

Reviewed the status of rainwater harvesting preparedness across the capital in a meeting today with senior officials of DDA, MCD, and NDMC. Clear directions, along with strict timelines, were issued to expedite structural repairs and ensure that all rainwater harvesting systems are made fully operational well ahead of the monsoon season.

Additionally, officials were directed to comprehensively assess the total installed capacity of all rainwater harvesting structures across Delhi, with the objective of establishing a robust baseline for future planning, groundwater recharge, and long-term water conservation efforts.

Hon’ble LG chaired a @DDMA_official meeting with Hon’ble Chief Minister Smt. @gupta_rekha Ji and other Cabinet Ministers to review enforcement against illegal buildings, fire safety violations and disaster preparedness. He directed the time-bound submission of action taken reports and suggested exploring the engagement of ex-Agniveers to strengthen the Fire Department workforce.

Chaired the meeting of the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) along with Hon’ble Chief Minister Smt. @gupta_rekha Ji and Hon’ble Ministers Shri @ashishsood_bjp Ji and Shri @p_sahibsingh Ji.

A comprehensive review was undertaken of the ongoing operations against illegal buildings, misuse of licenses with regard to fire safety, and future preparedness measures.

Emphasized that while Delhi’s disaster vulnerabilities present significant challenges, they also offer an opportunity to strengthen preparedness, build resilience, and improve response systems. At the same time, enforcement actions must not become a cause of harassment for ordinary residents.

To strengthen the Fire Department’s workforce, suggested exploring the engagement of ex-Agniveers to address existing vacancies. Directed the teams of officers constituted last week to submit their Action Taken Reports (ATRs) in a timely manner.

The meeting also reviewed heat-related disaster management measures and the status of monsoon preparedness. Called for extra caution, strict implementation, and a zero-tolerance approach towards flooding during the forthcoming rainy season.

बैठक में, अवैध भवनों के विरुद्ध चल रही कार्रवाई, फायर सेफ्टी संबंधित लाइसेंसों के दुरुपयोग तथा भविष्य में आपदा तैयारी के उपायों की व्यापक समीक्षा की गई।

उन्होंने इस बात पर जोर दिया कि दिल्ली की आपदा संबंधी कमजोरियां महत्वपूर्ण चुनौतियां पेश करती हैं, लेकिन साथ ही, ये तैयारियों को मजबूत करने, लचीलापन बढ़ाने और प्रतिक्रिया प्रणालियों में सुधार करने का अवसर भी देती हैं। यह भी सुनिश्चित करना आवश्यक है कि प्रवर्तन कार्रवाइयां आम नागरिकों के लिए उत्पीड़न का कारण नहीं बननी चाहिए।

इस दौरान, अग्निशमन विभाग में रिक्त पदों को भरने हेतु पूर्व अग्निवीरों की सेवाएँ लेने की संभावनाओं पर विचार करने का सुझाव दिया। उपराज्यपाल ने, गत सप्ताह गठित अधिकारियों की टीमों को समयबद्ध रूप से अपनी Action Taken Reports (ATRs) प्रस्तुत करने के निर्देश दिए।

बैठक में, हीट वेव प्रबंधन तथा मानसून पूर्व तैयारियों की भी समीक्षा की गई। मानसून सीजन को देखते हुए अतिरिक्त सतर्कता, कड़ाई से अनुपालन तथा जलभराव के प्रति शून्य-सहनशीलता (Zero Tolerance) की नीति अपनाने पर बल दिया।

Following the tragic Malviya Nagar fire incident, Hon’ble LG chaired a high-level emergency meeting with Home Minister Ashish Sood and ordered a magisterial inquiry to fix strict accountability. A comprehensive, multi-departmental action plan has been enforced, alongside a month-long city-wide crackdown on fire safety violations across commercial establishments.

Hon’ble LG also reviewed @MCD_Delhi’s monsoon preparedness and municipal governance, directing a time-bound strategy to curb unauthorized constructions through stringent building bylaw enforcement, while ordering the desilting of drains on a war footing to enhance structural safety and civic infrastructure.

In a major administrative push to secure the National Capital’s green lungs, Hon’ble LG approved the reconstitution of the Delhi Ridge Management Board (DRMB). The expert-led body will reinforce environmental governance and strengthen conservation of Delhi’s ridge ecosystem to promote ecological balance and climate resilience.

Chaired an emergency high-level review meeting today along with Minister of Home, GNCTD, Shri @ashishsood_bjp, following the tragic fire incident in Malviya Nagar. A comprehensive multi-departmental action plan for strengthening fire safety across Delhi has been formulated under the aegis of the Home Department, GNCTD.

Beginning tomorrow, a high-intensity month-long enforcement and prevention drive will be launched under the joint leadership of DMs, DCPs, and DCs (MCD) to conduct rigorous fire compliance inspections, audits, and sealing of identified non-compliant establishments, including hotels, guesthouses, nursing homes, coaching centres, and other vulnerable premises.

The campaign will be jointly monitored by the Chief Secretary and the Commissioner of Police to ensure zero laxity and strict accountability at every level.

A magisterial inquiry has also been ordered to thoroughly investigate the incident and ascertain responsibility.
