A human chain was organized by the Dhaka Metropolitan Unit of Bangladesh Islami Chhatrashibir in protest against the passage of the anti-Muslim Waqf Bill in India. The event took place today (April 5) at 3 PM in Shahbagh, the capital city.

Azizur Rahman Azad, Central Publicity Secretary, attended the program as the chief guest. Among the special guests who addressed the gathering were Central International Affairs Secretary Mu’tasim Billah Shahedi, Publications Secretary Abu Shadik Kayem, and College Affairs Secretary Shahidul Islam.

Presidents of various university branches based in Dhaka, along with Dhaka Metropolitan Unit leaders, also delivered speeches during the human chain.

Chhatrashibir Condemns the Passage of Anti-Muslim Interests Waqf Bill in India

Bangladesh Islami Chhatrashibir(@info_shibir) has expressed strong outrage and condemnation over the passage of the anti-Muslim Waqf Amendment Bill in #India and the #BJP government's ongoing anti-Muslim policies.

In a joint statement issued on April 4, Chhatrashibir’s Central President Jahidul Islam and Secretary General Nurul Islam Saddam stated, "The controversial Waqf Amendment Bill, passed in India's Lok Sabha on April 3, is yet another vile example of the BJP government's well-orchestrated efforts to strip Muslims of their religious freedom, ownership, and rights. Through this law, the government has paved the way for interference and seizure of Muslim-endowed religious properties such as mosques, madrasas, cemeteries, and shelters. According to the bill, it is now mandatory to include two non-Muslim members in the Waqf Board and the Central Waqf Council, which is a direct assault on the religious sanctity of Waqf."

The leaders stated, "India currently has over 872,000 Waqf properties, covering approximately 405,000 hectares (1 million acres) of land—making it the largest in the world. These Waqf properties are managed by various state and central Waqf boards and constitute one of the largest ownerships of urban land in India. After the military and the railway, Waqf boards hold the highest amount of land ownership in the country. The proposed amendments to the Waqf Act in the Indian Parliament will grant the government unchecked control over these properties, posing yet another blow to the Muslim community. We strongly protest against this bill."

In the statement, the leaders said, "The scale of injustice against Muslims in India is extremely alarming. After the partition of 1947, a massive number of Muslims were killed, persecuted, and forced to flee as refugees to other countries.

Subsequently, in 1984, during the Sikh uprising, and in 2002, during the Gujarat riots, thousands of innocent Muslims were brutally murdered. Widespread persecution of Muslims has also occurred in numerous other incidents, including the 2013 Muzaffarnagar riots, the 2014 Patna violence, and the 2019 Delhi riots."

The leaders further stated, "India is home to approximately 250 million Muslims, making them the country’s second-largest population group. However, the ruling authorities are relentlessly imposing repressive laws and seizing control of religious assets to push India towards becoming an exclusive Hindu state.

Previously, in 2019, the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and the National Register of Citizens (NRC) were introduced as anti-Muslim measures aimed at rendering Muslims stateless. Additionally, bans on hijab and cattle slaughter have been used to destroy Muslim livelihoods, while incidents of public desecration of the Quran have become alarmingly frequent in BJP-ruled states. Through these oppressive actions, the lives of Indian Muslims are being increasingly restricted and made more difficult."
The leaders stated, "Muslims have made incomparable and enduring contributions to India's history. Many of the country's most iconic historical landmarks, renowned worldwide, were built by Muslim rulers.

Architectural masterpieces such as the Taj Mahal, Red Fort, Qutub Minar, Hazarduari, and Gol Gumbaz stand as testaments to their legacy. Additionally, the construction of the Grand Trunk Road—one of South Asia’s most vital trade and transportation routes—was a significant achievement of Muslim rulers, shaping regional connectivity and commerce. Muslim scientists have played a pivotal role in India’s advancements, including the establishment of the country’s first space research center, satellite launches, and nuclear weapons testing. Furthermore, from Aligarh Muslim University to numerous other educational institutions, Muslims have been instrumental in shaping India's academic landscape.
We firmly believe that India is a multi-religious, multi-ethnic nation, and any attempt to impose the dominance of a single religion is unacceptable. In pursuit of narrow political objectives, the religious and cultural rights of all citizens are being systematically undermined.

Therefore, we urge the global Muslim community to raise a united voice in defense of the rights and religious freedom of Indian Muslims.

All laws that are against Muslims and humanity must be immediately abolished, and human dignity and rights must be restored. We Urge the Indian Government to Repeal the Anti-Muslim Law and Safeguard the Rights of the Muslim Community"

🚨 হত্যlর ভয় দেখিয়ে অসহায় মুসলিম মেয়েকে জোরপূর্বক একাধিকবার ধ˚র্ষ˚ণ করল হি˚ন্দু যুবক, থানায় অভিযোগ দেওয়ায় বাড়িঘরে অগ্নিসংযোগ।

দিনাজপুরের চিরিরবন্দর থানার রাণীরবন্দরের ১নং নশরতপুর ইউনিয়ন এর বশির মেম্বার পাড়ায় মাহফুজা আক্তার (১৫) নামের এক অসহায় মুসলিম মেয়েকে হত্যlর ভয় দেখিয়ে একাধিকবার ধ˚র্ষ˚ণ করে একই গ্রামের রুকন পাল (৩৫) নামের এক হি˚ন্দু যুবক।

মাহফুজা আক্তার প্রেমের প্রস্তাবে রাজি না হওয়ায় বিভিন্ন ভয় ভীতি এবং তার মাকে মারার হুমকি দেখিয়ে জোরপূর্বক শারীরিক নির্যাতন করে রুকন পাল (কালু)।

ধ˚র্ষ˚ণের পর হুমকি ধামকি ও শারীরিক নির্যlতনে অতিষ্ট হয়ে, গত ১৪ ডিসেম্বর ২০২৪ থানায় একটি মামলা করে মাহফুজা। এরই জের ধরে চলতি মাসের ৭ জানুয়ারি মাহফুজার বাড়ির চতুর্দিক খড় দিয়ে পেট্রোল ঢেলে আগুন লাগিয়ে এই পুরো মুসলিম পরিবারকে পুরিয়ে মারার হ˚ত্যlচেষ্টা করে রুকন পাল (কালু)।

আশ্চর্যজনক হলেও সত্য, ঘটনার প্রায় ১ মাস কেটে গেলেও এখন পর্যন্ত এই ভয়াবহ অপরাধের দায়ে হি˚ন্দু যুবককে আটক করেনি পুলিশ। অন্যদিকে অপরাধী ও তার সহযোগীরা এখনো মুসলিম মেয়ে ও তার পরিবারকে বিভিন্ন হুমকি ধামকি দিয়েই চলেছে।

Jamaat Ameer strongly condemns the brutal murder of Chittagong Judge's Court lawyer Saiful Islam Alif

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami's Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman issued a statement on 26th November, condemning and protesting against the brutal murder of Saiful Islam Alif, a young lawyer, and APP of the Chittagong Judge's Court, on November 26 afternoon in port city of Chittagong.

"The brutal murder that took place on November 26 in the city of Chittagong is a very heinous and condemnable crime. A group is continuously carrying out ill-attempts to destabilize Bangladesh by taking the side of the fallen dictatorship. They want to destabilize Bangladesh through provocative activities. The patriotic people are fully aware of their ill-will and are united. Just as their evil attempts had failed in the past, they will also fail in the future, insha Allah.

He further said, "I am deeply saddened by the murder of my fellow colleague, and young lawyer Saiful Islam Alif, APP of Chittagong Judge Court. I pray to the Almighty Allah seeking forgiveness of the deceased's soul. May Allah accept him as a guest of Paradise and grant him the highest status of martyrdom. I express my deep condolences to his bereaved family, relatives, loved ones and colleagues.

He said, "His sacrifice for the country will be remembered. I sincerely appeal to my party colleagues, students and patriotic people to exercise utmost patience in any provocation. May Allah Almighty help us."

He further said, "I call on the concerned authorities to take strict legal action against those involved in this brutal murder."

A lawyer named Saiful Islam Alif has been killed in an attack by supporters of #ChinmoyKrishnaDas Brahmachari in #Chittagong. The incident took place on Tuesday (November 26) afternoon on the road in front of the #Chittagong court building.

Chittagong Assistant Public Prosecutor Mohammad Enamul Haque confirmed the matter. "The deceased Advocate Saiful Islam was a lawyer of Chittagong court."

Kais Uddin Didar, an eyewitness to the incident, said: "Advocate Saiful Islam was facing the lane of Rangan Community Centre. From there, he was abducted and killed by Hindu terrorists."
