Iโve been somewhat quiet about this, but since weโre here, Iโll explain:
The landscape of professional womenโs basketball has undergone a significant transformation. The groundbreaking CBA has shifted the focus to new areas, and Iโm thrilled that women are finally receiving the recognition they deserve. However, this change has already had an impact on some of us who have faced threats, bigotry, and harassment to reach this point. To say that Iโve dedicated over 15 years to this section of basketball, from training to now covering media, would be an understatement. Now, I find myself on the outside looking in for certain teams because weโve been denied credentials (which was never the case in the past). The reasons for this are simply, โweโre not on brand or big enough.โ While many outlets respect my individual work, itโs a network that weโve built from scratch and invested a lot of effort into.
I hope the players are prepared to answer repetitive and silly questions from credentialed sources because some of us wonโt be there anymore to value the player over another product.
