#BREAKING: ๐ธ๐ด๐บ๐ธ The Federal Government of Somalia and the US state of West Virginia have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) focused on economic cooperation for the mining and processing of critical minerals.
Somalia's Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Dahir Shire, and West Virginia Secretary of State Kris Warner signed the agreement during a ceremony in Charleston, the state's capital.
"This partnership will advance technical collaboration, support responsible resource development, and open new opportunities for investment," Shire stated in a social media post confirming the deal.
The agreement marks a notable step in economic cooperation, pairing West Virginia's extensive historical expertise in resource extraction and energy with Somalia's largely untapped critical mineral potential.
The partnership aims to build technical capacity as Somalia looks to develop its natural resources to drive post-conflict economic recovery.
@RAbdiAnalyst Awoowe this reminds me of the popular African proverb, that says "If you sell your brother, even the buyer will not trust you".
The so called Sir Gavin Williamson and other missionaries will never trust but they will pursue their national interests, what is in it for you ?
It was my honor to host a high-level consultative meeting with senior leadership of the National Leadership Academy (NLA) to review and advance ongoing work on the Academyโs curriculum framework.
The meeting brought together NLA Board Chair Her Excellency Dr. Hodan Osman, Board Member Dr. Abdirahman Badiyow, Education expert Saida, and Academic Director Dr. Abdullahi, who presented the proposed framework for detailed review.
Our discussions focused on strengthening the structure, coherence, and implementation approach of the curriculum, ensuring its alignment with national priorities and institutional mandates. We also examined broader governance issues, leadership capacity development, and how emerging programmes can contribute to strengthening public sector performance and supporting national development objectives.
The engagement reaffirmed our shared commitment to building a context-responsive curriculum that prioritizes targeted rollout for government stakeholders, supported by clearly defined foundational modules.
This engagement reflects ongoing coordination between the Office of the Prime Minister and key institutional actors to strengthen leadership capacity and support effective governance.
This is a very important and crucial milestone.
Well done to the team that was responsible in developing this Act and the leadership of the auditor general.
I sincerely appreciate H.E. President Dr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud for signing the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Somalia ICPASย Amendment Law (Law No. 45).
Congratulations to Somaliaโs accountancy professionals on this important milestone. Strengthening the profession strengthens accountability, trust, and our national financial ecosystem.

Before Starlink, Mogadishu already had better mobile phone reception than Manchester โ we built one of Africaโs most resilient telecommunication networks. Now, Starlink internet service is officially activated, and Somalia continues to prove itโs a leader in African & ๐
This is a #tragedy, slowly and slowly losing our children into this deadly journey. This issue is under reported and to the government (s) it is no man's business. To the so-called members of parliament (s) or cabinet cabinet ministers this is your child, how would you feel ?
It's a journey not a destination,
'' and for those who can't comprehend how short it is, will never realize until it's too late''.

I know this may sound strange to many practitioners, but instead of crying for humanitarian support funded by American taxpayers, it is better to engage in good business deals with the U.S. and improve African economies through win -win situation.
Former South African President Thabo Mbeki is the kind of person who says, "I will try to retire when I die."
He is not only serving SA after leaving the presidency on September 24, 2008, But remains vocal about Africa's challenges every day.

Canada's Liberal party leadership.
In his final speech, Justin Trudeau stated, "Democracy is not given, freedom is not given, and Canada is not given." This emphasises that the Canadian Pple fought for what they have now. I believe Somalia needs leadership with that same mindset.
"How is our project going ?" One of them asked
Looking straight into their eyes and scanning their facesโ becoz they there were 3 gentlemen โ I said firmly and powerfully, "That delusional, daydreaming, and unfeasible project will never materialise as long as this world exists."
