The #UNCRC hasn't protected the rights of disabled children. It HAS to be used in conjunction with the #UNCRDP which is much stronger on the right to #InclusiveEducation
Today’s results show that Labour needs to deliver the actual change people voted for - offering real hope by reversing ever-widening inequality.
Dropping plans to cut disability benefits and properly taxing the very richest in society would be a good place to start.

When we label a child ‘bad’, we create or reinforce their belief that they are not good enough. So, they conclude they are misfits, learn to wear the label we have given them, and become what we have turned them into! Which means it’s time to rethink OUR attitudes and behaviour!
Disabled adults aren’t there because disabled children are invisible, othered & discriminated against legitimately within the education system-until we have #InclusiveEducation which is a #HumanRight#UNCRDP -disabled adults will continue to be locked out of ordinary life!
If you aren’t included or imagined in your local school alongside non-disabled children - you are invisible to our future generations of decision makers.. who will not naturally think about you in adult life!.. and so discrimination, ableism and othering continues…
This is a huge issue that needs addressing and actually affects so many young people going through school - there just isn't any pathway through to employment :( There is nowhere to aim for..no aspiration..no support!
