@sarasiobhan@jimgblair We need inclusive education as described in the UNCRPD article 24 and general comment 4.. segregating learning disabled children from our future generations of decision makers renders them invisible.. needing special when really they need to belong in ordinary society
No one seems to be talking about the fact Reform didn't have the result they hoped for in the Welsh election.
They fell well short of what they said they'd get.
They only got 29% of the vote.
You can't be the voice of the people if over 70% of the people demonstrably don't want you to be their voice.
Why do you think Farage didn't show up? He doesn't want to be associated with falling short. We saw this when they lost in Caerphilly last year, he was no where to be seen.
One from the archives.
Lab MP @lukejcr last year defending welfare changes that would have meant people who can't use the toilet on their own & who can't dress themselves wouldn't qualify for PIP
Careful if you retweet it. When I posted it he blocked me.

@munirawilson Please read the UN Convention on the Rights of Disabled People- article 24 and general comment 4 - disabled children’s rights are their rights not necessarily the rights of the parents.. this is very poorly understood
“I shouldn’t have had to fight for my son’s human rights. They should have just been there.”
Human rights are about fairness.
And every day, people across Wales are fighting for fairness in their communities.
A new Human Rights Bill for Wales will protect our rights and help deliver a fairer Wales.
No more promises. Wales deserves action.

This is a Reform candidate in Wales talking about scrapping the default 20mph limit.
It probably didn't help her case that she was talking in front of a 50mph sign...
There is an important conversation to have about 20mph. While it can be frustrating to drive slowly the data suggests that the policy has already paid for itself many times over in terms of savings for the taxpayer.
Wes Streeting must kick Palantir out of our NHS.
Donald Trump's favourite tech giant shouldn't be allowed anywhere near Brits' private health data.
There are fantastic British tech firms who would be far better and safer for the NHS.
Afghan young woman: “If you are a woman and have a toothache, you CANNOT receive treatment… Women are denied the right to education and cannot become dentists; and men are NOT allowed to treat women.”
Marks sense of moral duty and public service is truly inspirational. In his immense grief of losing his life long soul mate he still comes out fighting for the people of Wales 🏴 ❤️
The white paper has too much focus on schools and not enough on children....
No acknowledgement that 'schools can be sites of harm for children'

@Georgia_Gould@TomRees_77 Inclusion bases are still segregation according to human rights.. you need to get in touch with Loren Swancutt in Queensland where they rearranged the school with no extra cost or resources with amazing results..the families campaigned against it but now their greatest supporters
@MartinSLewis@GMB Both my children affected by this.. one isn’t even using the degree but has over £70k of student debt 😔 wish I’d known .. would have discouraged them getting a degree!
Did you know…
1. You have more right to appeal a parking ticket than a fixed penalty notice for unauthorised absence?
2. If you’re prosecuted, truancy laws are Strict Liability - you are guilty as charged, with no right to mitigation, mediation, appeal, legal aid, representations, information, advice or support.
3. This perverts your legal right to participate in your own defence?
4. If found guilty, your career could be at risk as you’ll receive a County Court Judgement and potentially a Custodial sentence.
5. Cases usually don’t meet the Prosecutor’s Test as they are not in the Public’s interest.
6. The Magistrates Court is clogged and grinding to a halt leading to families being told they don’t need to attend a hearing or being unaware they’ve been prosecuted and their case heard without them.
7. There is no evidence to show criminalisation is an effective deterrent or improves families’ (and more importantly) children’s outcomes (or attendance long term). Instead, it increases risk in the home, raises conflict, drives families apart and further away from services.
8. Offences are issued under the Single Justice Procedure. @kirkkorner has reported extensively on the injustice of the SJP, closed hearings and decisions made in 90 seconds. @SecretJPUK has also shared insights on this. As has @TransformJust1.
9. Unauthorised school holidays are a tiny proportion of persistent absence data. @NotFineinSchool families share some schools are marking as unauthorised holiday when attending a funeral or hospital treatment, eating disorder clinic, chemotherapy, CAMHS, ND assessments…
We are calling to decriminalise school attendance, and stop putting schools in the firing line with families and children.
There is always Another Way.
We can do better. Together.
