You know, looking back at the past and seeing everything we've enjoyed, disliked or just out right hated whatever content released, there is no game like Destiny.
I appreciate everything these devs have done for this game and what they're doing currently, I just don't wanna say goodbye and I hate how I dropped the ball on not going to Guardian Con or some sort of Bungie or Destiny related event IRL to meet the wonderful people of this community. I was hoping one day I could meet Datto and express my gratitude for his hard work and commitment for this game, giving us a shortcut on exotic quests and catalyst runs, or dungeon and raid tutorials, never forget this guy made a quick guide for that complex puzzle for Sleeper Simulant in Destiny 1.
I don't wanna say goodbye after this update because I will still be playing it, but I feel like im forced to say goodbye to the developers that poured their hearts out for this game and did everything they could for us, they were the real guardians of this game, even though I don't know a single player personally, they made it feel like I knew them personally with every content update, like they were strictly telling all of us through the game, "Have Fun!" But thats what it's all about in the end right? Having fun with alongside them?
Thank you Bungie, for providing me an experience that distracted me from this harsh world💙
Hey all,
Expect our first Developer Insight to land tomorrow morning (8AM Pacific). We'll be talking through the return of the Director, our recently announced Distortions activity for Destinations, and more.
TWID will be going live on Friday, after our second Developer Insights article focused on the Weapons Sandbox.
See you soon.
I wonder if Xur's inventory this week is intentional?
If you read the flavor texts of the exotics and catalysts featured this week (minus Hawkmoon as it's always here), the message is something like:
"Our tools were shoddy, but we made it work (Arbalest). Now, have joy, and sing one last time (Riskrunner). Despite the treachery, the game still stood (Queenbreaker's); and, though we were limited despite having so many great ideas (Borealis), we have hope that the game will live again (Heir Apparent)."
With a little imagination, the legendaries can be read in a similar way (though there is more emphasis on the actual weapon names):
"This is the Nature of the Beast: A Deadpan Delivery when we were eager (flavor text on Seventh Seraph Saw) to keep pushing when the game was doing well. Farewell, we were Duty Bound to be the First in and the Last out. Now, take your place among the company of heroes (Berenger's Memory flavor text) as we face the Abyssal Edge."
Just the message for easier reading:
"Our tools were shoddy, but we made it work. Now, have joy, and sing one last time. Despite the treachery, the game still stood; and, though we were limited despite having so many great ideas, we have hope that the game will live again. This, though, is the Nature of the Beast: A Deadpan Delivery when we were eager to keep pushing when the game was doing well. Farewell, we were Duty Bound to be the First in and the Last out. Now, take your place among the company of heroes as we face the Abyssal Edge."
This is 100% schizoposting, but it was a fun project to take my mind off the impending doom for like 15 minutes.

For almost twelve years, we have had the joy and honor to explore the Destiny universe with you all. Through all the ups and downs, surprises and triumphs, building Destiny alongside our players has been a monumental privilege. While our love for Destiny 2 has not changed, it has become clear that after The Final Shape, we have reached the time for our shared worlds, and Destiny, to live beyond Destiny 2.
As our focus turns towards a new beginning for Bungie, we will begin work incubating our next games. To that end, on June 9, 2026, we will release the final live-service content update for Destiny 2 to begin that new journey as a studio.
Though active development may be concluding, we will ensure that Destiny 2 remains playable, just as the original Destiny is today. Many changes in this final update will aim to ensure that Destiny 2 is a welcoming place for players to return to.
We’re proud of Destiny 2, the places it took us, and the legacy it has created. Because of you all, our universe is vast, built on years of shared stories, adventures, and victories. From the Cosmodrome to the Pale Heart to the Lawless Frontier, we have forged life-long memories and friendships with you all.
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who made that journey with us.
From the deepest part of our hearts, thank you, and we'll see you in the stars.
@HiddenXperia You should of played man, experienced the highs and lows, but Bungie knows they're just taking us fishing on their franchises, they know all good things end eventually
@aiiygatorz I enjoy all of Bungie's products, I am THEE consumer, I can complain about balancing and whatever but I overall enjoy all of what ever they have to offer cause there isn't any other game that feels like a Bungie game
Bungie will always make games for me to enjoy on a daily basis.
My cousin and I have always played Destiny together whenever a new Destiny update came out. I'm glad Bungie made a game for me and my cousin to grow up with that we can always play together no matter what.
