This thread is going to be long.
So please take time to read it when you're able to.
Every generation is meant to stand on the shoulders of the one before it.
A good father desires his son to become not merely a copy of himself, but a better version of what he started.
Likewise, a loving mother hopes her son grows into a man of integrity, wisdom, and responsibility. The purpose of family is not stagnation but progress.
A father is often a son's first example of manhood. Whether through his successes, sacrifices, mistakes, or virtues, he teaches lessons that no classroom can fully replicate.
Looking up to one's father does not mean believing he is perfect. Every father is human and will have strengths and weaknesses. Rather, it means recognizing the value of his journey, his sacrifices, and the wisdom gained through his experiences.
A son who respects his father gains several advantages:
1. He learns discipline and responsibility.
2. He understands the value of hard work and perseverance.
3. He gains insight from lessons already paid for through his father's struggles.
4. He develops a sense of identity and belonging.
A wise son studies both what his father did right and what he did wrong. The father's victories become examples to follow, while his failures become lessons to learn from.
To become better than one's father is not an act of disrespect. In fact, it is one of the highest forms of honor.
A father who built a small business hopes his son builds a larger one. A father who attained a certain level of education hopes his son goes further.
A father who overcame poverty hopes his son experiences prosperity. Progress is the natural goal of every healthy family line.
Being "better" does not necessarily mean earning more money. It can mean:
1. Having greater emotional intelligence.
2. Being a better husband.
3. Being a more present father.
4. Living with more integrity.
5. Making wiser decisions.
The true measure of success is not merely wealth but becoming a more complete and mature individual.
If each generation only equals the previous one, society stands still. If each generation improves upon the last, families flourish.
A mother often makes sacrifices that are unseen and uncelebrated. She carries, nurtures, protects, teaches, comforts, and often puts the needs of her children above her own.
Honoring a mother involves more than words. It means:
1. Speaking respectfully to her.
2. Appreciating her sacrifices.
3. Supporting her when she grows older.
4. Protecting her dignity.
5. Showing gratitude for her role in your life.
A man's treatment of his mother often reveals much about his character. If he cannot appreciate the woman who raised him, it becomes difficult for him to fully appreciate other women in his life.
Honoring a mother does not require agreement with every opinion she holds. Mature honor can coexist with independent thinking.
A son can make his own decisions while still showing love and respect.
One of the most important decisions a man will ever make is choosing a wife.
A wife becomes:
1. A life partner.
2. A confidant.
3. A supporter during difficult seasons.
4. A co-builder of the family.
5. The future mother of his children.
A good wife contributes not only to a man's happiness but also to his growth and stability.
When choosing a wife, a man should evaluate qualities such as:
1. Character.
2. Kindness.
3. Emotional maturity.
4. Wisdom.
5. Loyalty.
Beauty may attract attention, but character sustains relationships.
A wise man understands that the person he marries will influence the direction of his life for decades. Therefore, choosing a spouse should be guided by wisdom rather than impulse.
In my office, I receive more than 1,000 letters and mails every month.
All these letters and mails pass through my hands.
I stay awake almost all nights reading and responding.
After my promotion, I had to move into a new office and take over some special duties in addition to my schedule of duties.
In the new office, I saw letters that were dumped somewhere. No one has touched or open the letters nor read the letters
I wondered how the letters got there.
The envelopes used for the letters were very dusty. About nineteen letters from the same person.
It has same name.
Same phone number.
Same address.
Same request.
And same handwriting.
When our cleaners wanted to dispose them, I stopped him and requested him to bring them to me.
I opened and read one.
It was a letter written to the accounts and finance department of our company by a labourer in November 2019.
The letter was a request.
The worker was humbly requesting the head of accounts department to pay him, his salary that he is critically sick and needs the money for urgent treatment. In the letter, he stated that he had hepatitis which affected his liver.
I read the second letter. It was the same request. Looking at the letter, one will know that it was written in tears. The drops of tears were still visible on it, since the letter was inserted in an envelope.
I read the third letter and saw the same thing.
I read the fourth letter, it was still the same request.
He has been writing and sending in letters since November 2019 and the last letter was written on 10 August 2020, in which the writer stated that the accounts department should have mercy on him and his family and unblock his line and answer his calls.
It was confusing.
Who blocks people's lines here?
I decided to call.
I used my phone and dialed the number on one of the letters, which was the last letter written on 10 August 2020.
It ranged.
No one picked.
I redialed it.
It ranged again.
Someone picked.
I spoke first.
“Hello,” I said, “Good afternoon.”
“Good afternoon.” a female voice answered. It was the voice of a middle aged woman.
I told her my name and where I was calling from.
She kept quiet.
I told her that I am calling to speak with the person who bears the name on the letters.
She started sobbing over the phone.
“He is lying down here.” She cried.
“Who?” I asked to reaffirm.
“The person you want to speak with.”
“Can I speak with him, please?”
“He can't talk anymore. He is only breathing. He can't move. He doesn't even know that someone is sitting beside him. I am his wife. We have been writing letters and calling but you people said we should not disturb you anymore. Our lines were blocked. His money was withheld. We sent people to you people's office but they came back with nothing.” She cried, “We are just waiting for him to go and rest.”
I couldn't say a word.
I was just dropping tears because of the way she spoke.
She continued.
“He is dying day by day. The person receiving our calls and letters threatened us not to write or call again. My husband have been a worker in you people's company for more than seven years. He laboured there. He worked as if the work was his life. He didn't miss any day even when he was sick. But see how he has been abandoned. What has he done to deserve this treatment? God sees everything. We have been going around to ask for money but no one wants to help. We have to leave town and return to the village. No money to treat him. No money to eat. No money to pay rent. I spent my business money and nothing...” She sobbed.
I guess there was an error somewhere. Maybe something I am not aware of. The company I work for are not known for this narrative.
I asked her their village and home address. She told me.
I went to the village. It is a village between Osino and Begoro. I lost my way several times before getting to their house.
Some memories never fade.
Some love never breaks.
A mother’s love shapes who we become long before we understand it.
Designed this piece to celebrate the quiet strength, warmth, and beauty of motherhood. ❤️
Happy Mother’s Day.

My 90 DAYS Challenge (Day 4 of 90)I created this visual for a friend’s fashion brand, CIDANA Clothing a brand that focuses on premium native and contemporary menswear.
For this design, my goal was to capture the cultural elegance and premium craftsmanship of the clothing line.
My 90 DAYS Challenge till my Prayer Points hits my MoniePoint (Day 3 of 90)
Streetwears didn’t start in studios, it started outside. On pavements, in parks, at bus stops. With this creative I wanted to bring that energy indoors and position it as lifestyle, not a trend.

My 90 DAYS Challenge kicks off. (Day 1 of 90)
I started with a New Year promo design for a cleaning brand.
The idea was to visually express “fresh beginnings” using light, bright colors and textures inspired by soap, foam, and microfiber tools.

Absolutely true.
I think everyone is becoming self centered in their dealings with people.
Until you realise that to love is looking for means to help the other or making the other persons life better.
This is something we need to address in our society. If somebody cannot pay his rent or feed, it says a lot about the people in his life. We need to stop acting like life is individual and we don’t need people. The problem is that we have validated dropping people when life happens to them and ignoring the reality of vulnerable people in our circle.
If you hear somewhere that Yomyom cannot afford to pay his rent, it says a lot about me as a friend. No story! Why would you have friends or family that can cover it and it is not covered. If my friend dies, I have a responsibility to see that his family does not suffer and his kids go to good schools. If my friend is hungry, I have a responsibility to ensure he feeds and finds his feet.
Relationship comes with responsibility. You have a duty to your family, your partner, your friends. That is what makes life worth living.
Yesterday, I edited some videos late into the night. I finished around 4 a.m. I was exhausted, too tired to pray.
But I told myself I would not go a day without standing before God. If I had time to edit, then I had enough time.
Guess what? I got up and prayed.
I almost made it a legitimate excuse not to pray. After all, I had worked hard. But that is silly, isn’t it?
How is our job, or any other earthly commitment, legitimate enough that God’s deserved worship should suffer for it?
Isn’t that the height of rebellion? If anything should suffer, it should be our jobs or the other things we deem “important.”
God warned us about this. He told Israel, “You shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth.”
We often misuse that verse. It was more of a warning than a promise. God told them that Canaan would be a paradise.
Everything they craved in the wilderness would be there. But they must not forget Him, lost in abundance.
It is the same warning Jesus gave when He said we should seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness.
It was a warning about serving mammon, about prioritising profit over devotion to God.
I have therefore made a decision. Nothing will stop me from praying daily. Nothing.
I will stand before my God.
Right now, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders are casting their crowns, shouting, “Holy, holy, holy,” day and night.
In substance, we are not mightier than these beings. They are incomprehensibly magnificent, yet they bow continually, even now.
I share this so you can gird yourself and become serious. Babies move by feelings. Soldiers do not.
You are entering 2026. Prove to God that nothing is big enough to stop your daily devotion to Him.
Do that.
He deserves it. He expects it.
To His glory. Amen.
@jon_d_doe I told him i will come at a certain day, regardless of what comes may i ensured i finished it all. Everything is not tied to money, win the mind of people, be trusted, other things will follow.
@jon_d_doe I think one of the virtue people don't know how far it can take an individual is "Honesty" being true to your words and dealings, as a workman we are being accused of lying but i have vowed to always keep my words when dealing with clients. I once worked for some TDB because
