As with many ventures, ILDC had humble beginnings. The idea emerged when we attended land conferences abroad. Seeing global platforms made us ask: why not create a space for such dialogues in India?

India had no shortage of land issues, yet conversations were fragmented. ILDC began in 2017 to unite voices. Since then, it has grown into a platform for diverse actors to connect and collaborate.

She spoke on ‘Landing India’s Renewable Energy Ambitions: Reckoning Community Land Dependencies and Opportunities as Part of Energy Transition Planning’, and focused on the need for mapping human and non-human community dependents that are often impacted by clean energy transitions; laying out the opportunities that could be explored across the lifecycle of the renewable energy project.
