#Hyderabad | Intermediate Student Stabbed to Death in Old City

A 17-year-old Intermediate first-year student, Faiz Mohammad (@ Azaan), was allegedly stabbed to death by unidentified assailants near Biryani Shah Tekri Dargah under Kalapathar Police Station limits.

Police shifted the body for post-mortem, registered a case, and launched an investigation to identify the accused and establish the motive. Further details are awaited.

Concerns were raised among members of the Muslim community in Varanasi after the Railways issued a notice to the Ganj Shaheedan Masjid, located near Kashi railway station, alleging that a portion of the mosque stood on railway land. However, the notice was subsequently withdrawn following objections from the mosque management committee.

According to the mosque committee, the notice was issued on June 12, asking it to produce documents related to the ownership of the land. The Railways reportedly stated that if the required documents were not submitted within the stipulated time, action could be taken to remove the alleged encroachment.

The mosque committee rejected the Railways’ claim, asserting that Ganj Shaheedan Masjid is a historic mosque dating back nearly a thousand years, predating the establishment of the railway.

Committee members said the mosque is registered with the Waqf Board and claimed that it is also recorded in revenue records dating back to 1883–84. According to them, the mosque was established around 1034 AD, making the allegation of encroachment on railway land untenable.

The committee said it was prepared to contest the matter legally and present documentary evidence before the courts, if required.
