@HPhobiaWatch Europe is ~40 nations all with their own laws and uptake of AC - some as high as 60%. Im not aware of any needing permission - we dont. AC uptake in India is 8% - so why with your lack of regulation and being vastly hotter and obviously needing it more, is your number so shit?
@1artdealer1@ConvenerNatureP You think they should rebuild a 100 year old bridge due to occassionally high heat? And seemingly don't think the same should apply to Washington, Virginia or New York? Are Americans too poor to consider rebuilding their bridges or something? You guys can rebuild them too โค๏ธ๐
@naomi2009 Because they are nations built for higher and more sustained temperatures. Why is it such a hard concept for people to understand that infrastructure is often based on the climate it is located in and extremes either way stress that development.
@anaironically@naomi2009 Average UK temp is 10 degrees jumping to 30 during the heatwave. Do you think Qatar would be the same if their average went from 47 to 67 degrees?
@plus_right@naomi2009 Can we get some clarification on why India ac uptake is only 8%? A number vastly lower than most European countries in a nation considerably hotter.
@goodgameurdone@finskaattacken Pfft, its probably not about affordability. It's about stubbornness, accessibility and effort. I got a system put in a few years ago after a heat wave but I had to be pretty focused (get quotes, install, redecorate etc) and its largely been unused for most of the time
