A Baldwin City mom says her kid is one of four in his class who was wearing a mask in class. It's been a difficult situation; parents aren't wanting to comply with testing, quarantine, etc.
She was in the courtroom earlier but went home because she didn't feel safe, she says.

Genesis Health Club's owner donated $42,000+ to Kansas (R) House & Senate candidates last year.

A special provision letting him dodge $2.5 million per year in property taxes was just put into a #ksleg school funding bill.

It'll hurt your community, but he'll get richer faster.

One upsetting thing about the Kansas election bills passed today is that legislators honestly don’t understand what they just voted on.

It wasn’t a “ballot harvesting bill.” It was a hodgepodge of provisions that open up tons of legal uncertainty around elections.

There was a rumor Sen. Maj Ldr Suellentrop (R) wanted to resign from office right after the incident, but Sen. Pres. Masterson (R) pressured him to stay.
Suellentrop has now been ousted from his leadership position, but he's still a Kansas Senator.

He had no ride upon leaving the jail.

I asked him dozens of questions, he never once acknowledged me or said anything.

& due to super low legislative pay some legislators may go to these as a practical way to eat during session. We need ethics reform, but we also need to properly pay state legislators.

It’s an open secret. Kansas has a loophole where lobbyist don’t have to report giving legislators food & booze if they offer it to all legislators (or all of a party). So every night in Topeka big money holds these free for all buffets/bars w/ lobbyist & legislators. #ksleg
