I finally watched #Whiplash last night and I need to talk about the ending - that look for and of approval between Miles and Fletcher. *Spoilers abound*

So our protagonist does take control of a(nother) humiliating episode, turns it to his advantage, achieves his dream. But then that look for approval - the need for it - broke my heart. He finally gets it, but does this justify what has gone before?
