What’s the hardest part of learning English? Some G6 #ELLs shared it’s often having the courage to try! Learning English with VL during a pandemic is not easy! I’m proud of them for their courage to keep trying in the midst of so much difficulty! @ASBIndia
.@Indy2India and I are so proud of our 11 MS delegates, all of whom are virtually participating in their first #MUN Conference this weekend at #ASBMUN. They are representing China, Canada, Iraq, Israel, Norway, and Yemen. But, most of all, they're representing @ASBIndia!
During a brain break in my EAL class I asked the students to find something that helps keep them safe and show it to the camera. One student ran and got his mom. So sweet! #middleschool#virtuallearning#asbindia

Have you tried QSSSA with your Ss? It's a strategy that educator @ValentinaESL calls "easy to implement" – and more supportive for Ss than the "turn and talk" approach. Find out how it works: https://t.co/SK5ltEdS96 #StudentVoice#ELLchat
When your student knows you like Star Trek and creates a Star Trek Avatar for you. Middle Schoolers are always such fun to work with! #asbindia#middleschool
I hate finding my own spelling mistakes in class (or on Twitter!) But what another great learning opportunity for #ELLs. Even native speakers (and teachers!) can make English mistakes. I don’t pretend to be perfect and I don’t expect my students to be either!
This is important for all students, but especially our ELLs! Sometime I count silently to myself after asking a question to make sure I’m giving students space and time to answer! #ELLs
This week I observed two debates: the US Presidential Debate and a formal debate among my 8th graders. In one of those debates, participants were thoughtful and dignified, but I would expect nothing less from my awesome social studies students! 😜
This week I’ve realized how many 90’s pop culture references I make! Which basically means all my students now know the Jeopardy theme song and what it was like to own the original game boy!
How do you get *all* students—even the quietest—to participate in online learning? Here's what we gleaned from dozens of teachers. https://t.co/TW0INFo9Fs
Our 1st asynchronous Friday of the school year called for some games. @jackboxgames are a great way to have some fun with one another, virtually. Students had a great sense of humor while playing - smiles and giggles from everyone! @Indy2India#asbms#asbindia#virtuallearning
