@ABsteward found 2 new oral vs. IV RCT in kids < 2 mos with possible serious bacterial infxn. More than 12,000 pts! Oral was non inferior in 1 and superior to IV-only in the other on mortality!
Time to stop Tx our own anxiety with IV abx while hurting pts! https://t.co/F9Whl4lYvM
Shorter is better, even in pediatric high-risk febrile neutropenia: reducing antibiotics was safe, with no increase in mortality, faster discharge, and >30% fewer antibiotic days.

Question for MedTwitter. Putting together this new table for Oral Is the New IV, I got to wondering. Is anyone aware of any RCT for any disease in which IV-only abx were superior in efficacy to oral antibiotics? I am having a hard time finding one.

Our recent study, highlights the significant barriers to accessing novel reserve antibiotics in LMICs.
These antibiotics, critical in fighting MDR infections. The study also offers a six-step pathway to improve access.
