The two adult victims who perished in a petrol bomb attack in Waterford have been named as Philip and Kim English. Two children were also fatally injured in the blaze. Another two children are fighting for their lives.

A murder inquiry has been launched.

Firefighters said the blaze at the two-storey house was "well developed" when they arrived and they removed "a number of casualties.

Chief Superintendent Anthony Pettit confirmed a man, woman and two children had died after the house was "attacked by a person or persons unknown".

A couple who died this morning in a horror fire after their Waterford house was reportedly petrol-bombed have been named. Two children also perished in the fire while two more are fighting for their lives in hospital.

It was the second time in less than a month that the home had been targeted as part of drug-debt intimidation

After that incident, the couple are understood to have sought help from local politicians and gardaí.
