The Food Truck Contingency Is In Effect.
In 39 hours I leave for DFIR Austin by car. With a teammate at DC/BH and another leaving on a trip when I get back, we had the talk today about the food truck contingency.
I have issues with people networking. Namely, I hate people, and until I know someone as a person, they are an object in motion.
However, I need to do a better job at maintaining connections with people who move on to different jobs. Like Gibbs says, you don't waste good.
Security isn’t that different from any major knowledge job. You are always on call. The difference is we know what can happen. When a CEO is on vacation, they may get a call they don’t want. If they want to stay CEO they don’t ignore it. They won’t know what could be on that call
When my phone rings, there are only a few buckets that call can come from. I wrote my IR plans so that the only way I get called is one of the big ones. I’ve built a team to handle most things.
If you flaunt a behavior designed to create a reaction, don’t cry when the reaction you complain about is the response.
A.k.a. When you shovel shit over a fence, expect it to come back.
I need a free tool for windows that I can use to test SNMP connections to verify vulnerability scanner finds. The systems being flagged show SNMP disabled in their settings, hence the need for independent verification.
Does anyone have any recommendations?
Thank you @rapid7 for a support team that is doing everything in their power to not answer my question so as to force me to use a different R7 tool to accomplish what I am licensed to with my current R7 tool.
