@Virtualgeol The discussion was depositional vs diagenetic vs exhalation, and anoxic, dysoxic and euxinic water conditions (🤔) for development of ore seams.
1/3 I published this Friday and wanted to share it from me personally because it resulted from an aha! 💡moment for me. From the feedback I have gotten I also sense it resonates with a lot of other #WomenInSTEM (and others) #AcademicTwitter

@KristianGunder Kan ingenting om dissa ting egentligen alls men regnar med att social acceptans har något med det att göra. Snöbolleffekt. Sverige har ju mycket högre än tex USA. Vad sier forskningen?
I have written a piece based on a personal (almost comic, but dark) experience about #womeninscience#WomenInSTEM#Bias#gender which I want to share. What is a good platform? Blog? Any suggestions?
@mariaansine :( Thanks for support... I hate that part of the rejection was based on not being "groundbreaking" enough. i.e it was realistic people. I wrote what I could actually do, not total bs to sell a good story (see most men writing proposals *eyeroll*).
1/5. Rejection. A bitter thread. Rejection is never fun. But last year my proposal was thoroughly read, “fairly” graded, did not make the cut. This year a few sloppily hastily written lines are meant to justify not funding my treasured InCCrS (aimed to increase CO2 storage).
@mariaansine I think perhaps I will just turn up at nfr dressed like this and make the same statement. Perhaps being police-escorted off the site will at least make someone notice! ha ha ha. Dunno if I can pull off that hair though...
@Fiafossil Oh. I was hoping this was the exception. At least with peer review you get 2 or 3 reviewers. Here your whole research career depends on one person. Who in this case clearly had better things to do :(
5/5.Evaluation was short but aside from not being bold or groundbreaking, rather incremental and “worthy": my education relies on educating, I did not think about licenses for imaginary trips to Brasil and my white-male-networking skills subpar. How am I meant to improve this?
4/5. Apparently I should include information on getting licenses to fly drones in Brasil. Who is going to Brasil?(not this project), who is flying drones in Brasil? (not me, but might just get a permit to satisfy my reviewer anyway?), which proposal were you reading???
