@MikeDeSantis1@benwright The problem is, for 163 years, association football has been comprised of 2x45 minute halves. Now the rest of the world are expected to spoon-feed you absolute divs with your gnat-like attention spans. FIFA are worth literally billions. They can manage.
@CanFamilyMan@World_Affairs11 The difference is Russia were hit with a worldwide sporting ban by the relevant sporting authorities. The US, but not FIFA at this stage, have unilaterally decided to ban Iran.
@clownltjokerrt@jaygeejayuk@TheGriftReport Okay. That’s the rolling stock. Now you have to overlay a modern yet compatible signalling system whilst maintaining a train service using the existing system. Not so straightforward.
@dazzleplayzz@TheGriftReport No, that’s not my point at all, although I concede my sarcasm probably didn’t come across well.
As I’ve said elsewhere, TfL did open up the role externally a few years ago. The dropout/failure rate was so high they decided to go back to internal recruitment.
@ShruggedAslef I know. I did the job for 20 years myself. It was a sarcastic jibe at the original poster, and that peculiarly British, race-to-the-bottom mentality.
@jaygeejayuk@clownltjokerrt@TheGriftReport TfL carried out a feasibility study in 2014, analysing the cost/benefit. Can’t find it now but it’s freely available online. Anyway, they decided it wasn’t worth it.
@kev_fat_bloke@TheGriftReport …in your opinion. Forgive me, I didn’t realise you were the sole arbiter of what constitutes a fair wage. Thanks, Sir Keir.
@kev_fat_bloke@TheGriftReport You could show a child how to drive an automatic car in five minutes, assuming they could reach the pedals. You wouldn’t let them loose on the roads though, would you?
Try again.
@TheGriftReport While we’re at it, the job was advertised externally a few years ago. The failure/dropout rate was so high that it wasn’t deemed cost effective to do so again.
