Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev received the Zayed Award for Human Fraternity in Abu Dhabi.

“We were at war for more than 30 years. Now we are living in peace. We are learning how to live in peace. It is a special feeling,” Aliyev said.

On August 8, 2025, in Washington, the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan, with mediation by Donald Trump, signed a historic peace agreement, marking the conclusion of a 35-year conflict.

Truly honored to host H.E. President Alexander Stubb (@alexstubb) of Finland at The International Institute for Central Asia (@IICAinTashkent).

President Stubb became the first foreign head of state to visit the IICA since its inception. This is a historic moment we will long remember.

The last visit by a Finnish President to Uzbekistan was in 1992, just as the country was taking its first steps as an independent and sovereign nation. And this happened in a year when Uzbekistan joined the Organization for Security and Co‑operation in Europe, which celebrates the 50th Anniversary of the Helsinki Final Act under Finland’s chairmanship.
