Might come back to bite me, but I like this trade as a Steelers fan.
2 1st round picks, with this year’s being 14th overall, and an expensive contract, for a new + 1st time HC in Baltimore.
Definitely more of a win-now move with Lamar, but this could backfire beautifully.
There’s always talk about Colbert not letting Khan draft in 2022. I think KC picked KP8 to give Khan a good start with the fanbase. If KP8 did well, every1 can say Khan was involved & picked him. If not, blame KC & Khan keeps a clean slate for whenever it’s his time to draft a QB
Funny to see people say the Steelers got fleeced. I wonder what those people think the appropriate return is for a 0x pro bowler with ~9 months left on his contract. Dallas also isn’t guaranteed a 3rd round comp pick now that they have Pickens. 1 injury derails that quickly.
Don’t remember any 6th round rookie QB ever getting as much publicity in Pittsburgh as Will Howard. You’d think he was selected early in Day 2 with how much he’s being talked about.
Andy Reid was known a playoff choke artist when he was run out of Philly. A couple years later the same man is in talks about whether or not he’s a top 5 coach all time. Did he stumble upon the knowledge necessary to make that leap? What a difference having a franchise QB makes.
Tomlin crying about bad O-Line play, while he plays a major part in playing his OL players out of position (Kendrick Green, Kevin Dotson, Broderick Jones), is the epitome of blindness. Maybe play people @ the position they practice at & naturally play & the results wont be so bad
While Aiyuk is a good player, I’d probably rather not have him. $28M/season on the low end PLUS w.e. the 49ers demand in a trade. Maybe a 2nd & then some. I have faith that the FO could make better use of all those assets in addressing several positions on the roster, not just WR
Troy Fautanu, Zach Frazier, Roman Wilson. 3 day 1 ready guys, all on offense. I wonder if pick number 98 is best available CB now. I’d assume that or DL.
Chiming in on the talk between Troy Fautanu vs BroJo for LT: they’re both versatile OTs but I’d rather BroJo get the nod there. BroJo is younger and already has a year of pro experience under his belt. He still has more time to develop.
