Below is one of the biggest misperceptions regarding the U.S. Senate race. A U.S. Senator who isn’t tied to party politics can have a HUGE positive impact on life for working families across MA.
Day one, a Republican Governor will face a Democratic supermajority on Beacon Hill.
A U.S. Senator can bypass Beacon Hill. Plus, One-third of the state budget comes from federal funds. MA ranks number one per capita in federal taxes paid - $22K per person. We need a Senator fighting to get those tax dollars back to MA.
Community Development Block Grants are huge for infrastructure and bypasses Beacon Hill and goes directly to cities of 50K or more people. Less than that and its earmarks.
The low-income housing credit is the number one driver of affordable housing in the nation. Nuclear tax and production credits could drive down energy costs significantly. Just a few of the things a U.S. Senator could accomplish that improves quality of life within the state.
The comment below demonstrates the problem - people are unaware of what a great nonpartisan independent-minded U.S. Senator could do for MA becaue some people view the world only through labels - democrat and republican.
When you’ve lived as long as I have and pay attention to what people do instead of what they say - you realize both parties are corrupt to the core. I’m trying to give MA an independent nonpartisan voice rooted in common sense, putting MA and American workers first.
But many people, no doubt, will vote along party lines. I can guarantee you this: when Ed Markey and I stand on the stage together - I will have the better ideas to solve our problems. And it will be OBVIOUS TO MOST PEOPLE - including @BruceAdams44794 and many other Markey voters.
Even Markey, himself, will not say: “John Deaton’s ideas are bad.” His entire argument will be don’t vote for Deaton because he’s the Republican in the race.
We need 1.3 million voters to look past labels and focus on which candidate is the better choice and the one with the better ideas and we win.
No Disrespect; I really DO NOT need another @FedEx customer service rep to introduce themselves, apologize, promise to “review” everything, and then accomplish absolutely nothing.
Here’s the customer-service Groundhog Day I’ve been living through:
“Hi, my name is Jim. I’m sorry for the late response. I will be happy to assist you from here. Please allow me time to review your information in this chat thread and I’ll be back shortly. Thank you.”
“Hello, my name is Elier. I’m sorry for the late response. I will be assisting you further. Please allow me a few minutes to review the shipment information in our system and I will get back to you.”
“Hi, this is Lara. I sincerely apologize for the late response and the inconvenience this has caused you. I’ll do my best to help. Please give me a few moments to review this chat thread and I will get right back to you. Thank you.”
“Hi, my name is Sharle and I will be happy to help you from here. I will review your information and get back to you shortly. Thank you!”
“Hello, this is Marlyn. I apologize for the delayed response and for the inconvenience you’ve experienced. I appreciate you providing the tracking number information. Please allow me a moment to review this chat thread and I’ll follow up with you shortly.”
“Hi Marlyn, once more. I have already informed our team about the contents of your package. Please bear with us while they work to ensure your package is delivered as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience.”
“Hi, this is Dominador, thank you for reaching out and I am sorry for the late response. My sincerest apologies for any inconvenience. I’ll do my best to help you with your concern. Please allow me to review the details. I’ll get back to you shortly.”
“Hi, this is Arjay. I apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you. I’ll be glad to assist you with your concern. Kindly provide your full name, complete delivery address, phone number and email address.”
Eight interactions.
Same script.
Same apologies.
Same “let me review this.”
Same promises to help.
Different name at the top.
Meanwhile, my package traveled from KANSAS to NEW HAMPSHIRE in 3 DAYS and has now taken 8 DAYS to travel the FINAL HOUR to my house.
But here’s my favorite part of this entire circus:
One @FedEx rep actually tried to cheer me up by telling me I could apply to WIN A GOLF TRIP. 😂⛳️
Fantastic!
My package may never complete its final one-hour journey, but maybe I can escape all this and go play golf!
Except…
YOU NEED A FEDEX ACCOUNT NUMBER TO ENTER.
Which I don’t have.
So just to recap:
📦 Package: apparently being held hostage one hour away
🎧 Eight customer-service interactions: same script, different names
🎫 Trouble tickets: apparently reproducing faster than solutions
⛳️ Consolation golf trip: NOT ELIGIBLE
That really is the cherry on top of this logistical masterpiece.
I don’t need a ninth person to apologize and “review the chat thread.”
I need someone at @FedEx to actually READ the chat thread, STOP opening new trouble tickets, figure out what the previous eight interactions accomplished, AND DELIVER THE PACKAGE.
After all, that IS what FedEx does, right?
Deliver packages?
Or have I completely misunderstood the business model and @FedEx is actually a customer-service company that occasionally dabbles in package delivery? 😂
Because at this point, they’ve successfully delivered me eight apologies, multiple trouble tickets, a golf contest I can’t enter, and absolutely everything except the one thing I actually paid to have delivered.
I’m honestly not sure which has a better chance of reaching my house first:
My package or a PGA Tour card. 😂⛳️📦

Rep. Ayanna Pressley's ex-con husband just won a $2,000,000,000 contract from the state of Massachusetts, and it's as shady as it sounds. Without independent journalist Mike Urban, you’d never know about most of it.
