🗣️ This morning, DCI Steve McGrath appeared on @BBC's Crimewatch Live to appeal for information in relation to the murder of 19-year-old Ellis Cox in #Aintree.

Ellis was fatally shot on Sunday 23 June 2024 at the Liver Industrial Estate, and we need to get justice for his family.

His mum Carolyn and auntie Julie appeared on the show during an emotional appeal.

@crimestoppers are offering a reward of up to £20,000 for key information leading to the conviction of those responsible for the murder of Ellis.

📢I'm pleased to announce that after a rigorous assessment and interview process, @CumbriaChief Rob Carden is my preferred choice to be the next Chief Constable of @MerseyPolice

Subject to approval by the Police and Crime Panel, Rob will replace @merpolchiefcon Serena Kennedy KPM in September, following her decision to retire.

Before joining Cumbria Constabulary as Deputy Chief Constable in 2022, Rob had spent the majority of his career in #Merseyside, having joined the force in 1992 following in his father’s footsteps.

During his 20 years with the force, he led on a number of extremely high-profile incidents and he fully understands the unique challenges of policing our region. I am sure he will continue Serena's excellent work delivering the best possible policing service for our local communities.
