@iowahawkblog @davidclowery Think we're just seeing more fallout from the "death" of rock. Indie clubs died. Young entrepreneurs didn't open places. Adults now in their 20s/30s never caught hype/vibe in HS. Garage bands nothing to aspire to. The "Shit! I can do that!" inspiration died along with it all.

@iowahawkblog We don't even hide the game down here. Our school systems now create multiple "Career and College Academies" or "AP Academies" that are academic farces, but "open to all area students." These are created expressly to allow coaches to recruit out of zone. The money still flows.

At dinner, my father always wanted some of the butter that sat only in front of his uncle. Each request was rebuffed with "We have some mighty fine gravy."
