@stujallen Yesterday I finished Afterlight by Dutch author Jaap Robben, except I read it in Dutch. I’m now reading The Safekeep by Yael van der Wouden who is Israeli-Dutch, but writes in English. Or English-adjacent. I may get be better off reading the Dutch translation. 🤔

@philip_ciwf @BBCNews The BBC news showed heartwarming footage of them galloping along the road, then being lured in with food, obviously pretty tame. This was just murder. No attempt whatsoever to find a home for them. Heartbreaking.

@MthrJacquiT It’s not likely to be the saucers that break, if my mum’s wedding tea set is anything to go by. Piles of saucers, no cups, no plates. She used them for mum and toddler coffee mornings. I use them for collecting bits and bobs, jewellery, etc.
