@BustedAuction A good strategy as a young person, is to move into a boomer neighborhood with houses that haven't been updated in a while. Slowly start updating your home, and soon the boomers will notice and have to one up you. You sit back and watch the housing prices in the neighborhood rise.
@PeterSchiff The other day Cotsco had a 1 ounce gold bar on sale in a display case. All I could think about is Peter complaining about bitcoin, and walked away.
@Grummz I don't think this is true. My For You tab can pull 100+ posts, and 9 of them were yours without scrolling all the way through. If you comment on someone's post, they will appear multiple times in the feed when you refresh.
@BenPielstick@Grimezsz@wordgrammer By memories, I mean by touching an object, it invokes prior memories from past events to reflect on, not just storing in memory.
@BenPielstick@Grimezsz@wordgrammer Another way to think of it is if you give a robot tactile sensors, it will sense pressure changes, but it won't form thoughts or memories from touching different objects. Consciousness comes from the additional non-programmed reaction from the sensory inputs.
@BenPielstick@Grimezsz@wordgrammer Sensory input could be one of the criteria for consciousness. Sensory + 1s/0s + additional criteria. Maybe human consciousness is just a unique form of consciousness.
