TV: The Ipcress File: Tom Hollander and Joe Cole unite in a thrilling new cold war spy adaptation https://t.co/w8HCrxzEp4 ... and to think I thought The Ipcress File was a cook book until I read the fact based spy thriller, Beyond Enkription in #TheBurlingtonFiles series ...

[seanhannam @seanhannam]

Really enjoying The Ipcress File on ITV - it’s more faithful to the book than the Caine film - which is my favourite movie of all time.I like the small nods to Caine’s portrayal - mac, specs - the hints of the John Barry theme, and the camera angles that are a homage to the movie.

Freelance life is varied - in the past few days,I’ve written a feature on Paul Draper [ex-Mansun], reviewed the new Johnny Marr album - it’s great - put together two digital newsletters, interviewed a bathroom retailer and two electrical ones, and edited a tech retail mag. #busy

We couldn’t resist these four new @PenguinUKBooks reissues of some of Len Deighton’s classic spy novels. The artwork is very cool and nicely in keeping with the ‘60s editions.
