3I/ATLAS is racing closer, and the question is profound: are we seeing a natural interstellar rock—or a technological messenger on the Loeb Scale?

The timeline for answers is fast approaching:

Oct 3, 2025 → Mars orbiters may capture the first close-up images.

Mar 16, 2026 → NASA’s Juno spacecraft passes within 54M km.

A velocity shift of just 30–40 km/s this October could send it Earth-bound, arriving late December 2025. Such a maneuver is easily within human rocketry.

Signals or course changes would shatter the “natural comet” explanation. But if images show a small, outgassing nucleus, the mundane answer wins.

Still, the anomalies stack up:

Retrograde orbit aligned within 5° of the ecliptic (<1% odds).

Close flybys of Mars, Venus, and Jupiter—timing almost too neat.

CO₂-rich coma, nickel without iron, extreme negative polarization—nothing like standard comets.

Even if natural, every interstellar object is still a messenger—carrying alien chemistry, physics, and possibly the seeds of life.

We’re on the edge of discovery. Within months, we may learn if 3I/ATLAS is just another cosmic wanderer—or something that rewrites our place in the universe.
