IranLovers is not affiliated with any particular group, party, or organization. We are a collective of Iranians in the diaspora who want to support Iran.
Every dictatorship has defenders.
The Islamic Republic has an entire ecosystem of apologists who manage to turn every execution, crackdown, and act of repression into someone else’s fault.
We have created the Disinformation Playbook to outline common tropes that are pushed by the regime.
Welcome to Version 2 of https://t.co/uCLTOchbSG
Now with our new Apologist Meter to help identify familiar narratives before they finish the sentence.
Many thanks to @SepiBordian@MalMalbala0@choopanam and the many others that helped make this happen 🙏🙏🙏
Feel free to share and give feedback so we can continue to evolve it and make its stronger.

Iran has been under an internet blackout for over 12 hours.
The Islamic Republic has done this before and it’s doing it again: cutting off connectivity to silence people, hide repression, and block the flow of information.Internet blackouts are a deliberate tool of state violence.
The Islamic Republic has cut phone lines and driven internet traffic in Iran to near zero, effectively imposing a nationwide shutdown and severing the country from the global internet. #IranProtests
Doctors, nurses and hospital staff confronted the state forces during the raid, attempting to prevent the removal of the bodies and stop the harassment and intimidation of injured civilians receiving medical treatment.

As #IranProtests enter their 11th day (one of the largest uprisings since the 2022 Woman Life Freedom Revolution), the Islamic Republic is hunting protesters beyond the streets. Authorities are raiding hospitals to seize bodies and detain the wounded.

Human rights monitors report special units of the Islamic Republic using live ammunition, metal bullets, tear gas, and well documented tactics of repression against demonstrators.
Security units surrounded the hospital as protests spread across more than 100 cities and towns in what activists describe as Iran’s largest demonstrations since 2022.Rights monitors report live ammunition, mass arrests, and teenagers among those killed or detained. #iranprotests
Iranian security forces fired tear gas inside Imam Khomeini Hospital in Ilam, chasing injured protesters and civilians through corridors after they sought shelter from clashes in nearby streets. #ilam
Gunfire and mass arrests continue as protests spread across Iran.
At least seven people are confirmed dead, with demonstrations expanding beyond Tehran to multiple provinces.
Among those detained are protesters in Izeh. Local sources have named the following people as having been arrested: Reza Asadi
Aref Asadi
Mousa Mousavi Mombini
Arman Shahpouri;
Nemat Heidari
Ramtin Bagheri
Shayan Asadollahi
Arin Salahshour
Shahpour Alborzi
Hesam Mohammadi
From late-night student protests outside dormitories to sweeping closures and arrests across 23 provinces, the message is clear: while authorities speak of “dialogue,” people are openly challenging the Islamic Republic itself.
Iran enters 2026 with protests spreading from Tehran and Hamadan to Izeh and smaller towns, driven by a collapsing currency and a cost of living many can no longer afford.
As the rial hits historic lows, wages lose value by the day, but for many on the streets this is no longer just about prices, it’s about a system blamed for decades of repression.
