Driving to work in Dublin, I saw two carers crossing the road with three children with mental disabilities. None of the three were native Irish.

Now, I want to help people who are disabled (especially kids), but if we can't have an adult conversation about what is and isn't economically feasible, then we are merely hoping for a future and not planning for one.

If we are seen as a country that will care for everyone in the world, there is no limit to what we will be expected to give.

Would you feed the homeless and let your own children starve?

In a way, isn't that what we're doing by paying for migrants while native children can't afford to live in Ireland and have their own families?
