Tayo Adaramola has signed for Belgian side Cercle Brugge! 🟢

Adaramola returns to Belgium after previously spending the second half of the 2024/25 season on loan at RWDM Molenbeek, where he got his first real consistent run of games in senior football.

Since then, the full-back has continued to develop, enjoying a strong loan spell at Sheffield Wednesday before making his senior Ireland debut against Grenada in May.

Adaramola is such an exciting wing-back, incredibly quick, powerful and always looking to make things happen going forward. You can see the improvement in his game year after year.

Now the next step is to establish himself as a regular at Cercle Brugge and push towards becoming a consistent member of the Ireland squad.

Belgium has proven to be an excellent league for developing young talent, including several Irish players in recent years, and hopefully this move allows us to see the very best of Adaramola.

Mason Melia has officially joined Lincoln City on a season-long loan from Tottenham Hotspur! 🔴

One of Ireland’s brightest prospects gets his first taste of men’s football in England, and the fact he is stepping straight into the Championship at just 18 years of age shows how highly rated he is.

Melia joins an ambitious Lincoln side who will undoubtedly do everything they can to get the best out of him during what could be a huge season in his development.

After making his senior Ireland debut in June, the striker will now be competing alongside several Irish forwards in the Championship. He knows that if he can outperform them and deliver regularly for Lincoln, he can establish himself as a regular fixture in the Ireland squad.

There is no doubt that this is only the beginning for Melia in England.

It’ll be interesting to see how the rest of the transfer window and pre-season unfolds for James Abankwah.

The Ireland international has been heavily involved for Udinese throughout pre-season and started today, playing 62 minutes in their 3-3 draw with Mainz. Across the club’s opening friendlies, he’s steadily earned more responsibility, coming on at half-time in the first game, after the hour mark in the second, before starting today’s match.

It looked as though a permanent return to Watford was the most likely outcome after an impressive loan spell last season, but that speculation has gone quiet. Instead, Abankwah appears to be firmly back in Udinese’s plans, with his performances for both club and country, particularly after his performances in May and June have given the Serie A side reason to reassess his future.

If he does remain in Udine, the opportunity is there. He’s shown he has all the attributes to become a regular Serie A starter, and with a strong pre-season behind him, he’ll be hoping to turn those encouraging signs into consistent league minutes. There’s no doubt he has the quality to do it.

Ireland’s starting XI for tonight’s game against Grenada in a 3-4-2-1 shape! 🇮🇪

Heimir Hallgrimsson informed the press in Murcia yesterday of the lineup with a night ahead for a number of players, with senior debuts for Tayo Adaramola and Jack Moylan, while James Abankwah and Conor Coventry are both set for their first starts in green.

Eiran Cashin had been expected to start the game, but picked up an injury and is not fit enough from the beginning, although he is still part of the matchday squad.

As expected, Lincoln City’s Jack Moylan has been included after a superb season that has also seen him nominated for League One Player of the Year. Moylan has delivered 10 goals and 4 assists in the league, playing a huge role in Lincoln’s historic promotion and underlining just how impressive his campaign has been.

Cardiff City left-back Joel Bagan is also in the Team of the Year, capping off a brilliant weekend after Cardiff sealed promotion with a 3-1 win over Reading. Bagan has been one of their most consistent performers all season and fully deserves the recognition.

Two players performing at a high level in positions Ireland could use fresh options in and would expect both men to be named in the Murcia camp.

A huge night for Troy Parrott as his AZ Alkmaar side produced a magnificent display to defeat NEC Nijmegen 5-1 in the KNVB Cup Final.

Parrott played his part in style, registering a goal and an assist on the night. He had to wait until the 95th minute to get on the scoresheet, but of course the striker delivered - sealing the victory with the final goal of the game.

It wouldn’t have felt right without the main man getting his moment.

The first senior trophy of Parrott’s career… and hopefully the first of many.

What a night for Andrew Omobamidele and Strasbourg!🇮🇪

Trailing 2-0 from the first leg in Mainz, Strasbourg returned home and produced a stunning comeback, thrashing Mainz 4-0 to advance in style.

Omobamidele was excellent at the heart of defence - calm in possession, composed throughout, and defensively solid as Strasbourg completely dominated the tie.

Strasbourg are a hugely talented young side and a brilliant environment for the defender to develop. With injuries now behind him, Omobamidele is finally getting a consistent run of games.

They now face Real Vallecano in the semi-final, and Omobamidele is the last remaining Irish player in European competition this season.
