🇪🇺The European Union remains the largest buyer of Russian LNG, accounting for roughly 49% of Russia’s total global LNG exports, then scapegoat Greece while pretending to punish Moscow.

💶 In the first half of 2026 alone, EU imports reached a record 9.89–9.97 million tonnes, worth up to €6.8 billion-much of it supplied by the Russian controlled Yamal LNG facility.

🔶Spain, Belgium and the Netherlands continue buying Russian LNG to protect their own industries, then demand that Greece sacrifice its shipping fleet. The gas will still reach Europe-only aboard non-EU, potentially Chinese vessels.
Russia loses little; European shipping loses market share.

Meanwhile, the same countries overlook Turkey’s occupation of Cyprus and threats against Greece, yet demand unconditional Greek solidarity against Russia.
