Jerry also presented a couple of posters at World Aerobiology! This poster describes our work in Saclay, France. The WIBS 4+ real-time sensor was used for a sampling campaign to observe performance of its additional D, E, and DE particle channels.
Great work again! ๐ซ๐ท๐ฌ๐ฑ๐น๐๐ฎ๐ช
Jerry's presentation has given the global aerobiology community a clear insight into our recent progresses, and what we've set out to achieve over the coming years.
A great talk is one that's equal parts entertaining and informative, and @JerryClancy10 certainly achieved that!
Great job of @JerryClancy10 from @IrishBioaerosol@IrishPollen under @DOC_at_DCU suppervision telling researchers from all around the world the performance of the Swisens Poleno sampler in Dublin and future expectations
We're really enjoying ourselves at World Aerobiology 2024 in the hot and sunny Vilnius! The first presentation from our group is Gemma's poster, looking into some promising @swisens Poleno Jupiter findings, from the @MetEireann rooftop in Glasnevin. Great work Gemma! โจ๐๐ฌ
@gemma_davis5 had the exciting opportunity to attend the Mary Robinson Climate and Nature Conference, with a variety of fantastic talks. It was excellent to see so many people taking action against climate change. ๐โ๏ธ๐น
Had a lot of fun deciphering the IR spectra on this one!
If you want to delve deeper into the compositional changes between pollen before and after it is released, or between pollen collected from different pollution gradients then give it a read! ๐คง

If thunder warnings and high pollen forecasts over the weekend found you struggling more than usual with your hayfever then you could have experienced thunder fever! โ๏ธ ๐คง

Huge congratulations to our PhD student @alexavelev for winning best aquatic poster at #ENVIRON2024
His poster was based on the detection of PMT chemicals in environmental samples
So proud of our PhD students @alexavelev and @beccasmith2k14 for presenting their research into PMT/vPvM chemicals at their first conference #ENVIRON2024
We are immensely proud of @gemma_davis5 and her poster made for #Environ2024. Believe it or not, it's her first time presenting a poster!
She showed off the work she's done so far in her first year, comparing Hirst sampling with the @swisens Poleno Jupiter.
Congrats Gemma!
Great #Environ2024 talk by @JerryClancy10 where he discussed our work with the WIBS 4+ device as part of a collaboration with @CEAParisSaclay.
Have a read of some of the important findings we already published: https://t.co/PwH9gTWJNh
Excited for our big day today in Waterford for #Environ2024!
We have poster and oral presentations this year, highlighting the crucial role of bioaerosol monitoring in protecting our plants and our people.
Follow us to stay updated with our presentations today, and beyond!
We meet our European colleagues for the final time as part of our @COSTprogramme ADOPT project. @JerryClancy10 reports that the only thing that could possibly distract from our hard work is this scenery! Thank you @fondazionemach@VisitTrentino for providing such a setting!
We were going to train our @swisens Poleno with the pollen atomizer today, but maybe we will wait until it's not snowing so much!
Great views from the Met Eireann pyramid this morning thanks @Emma__Markey#sneachta
Follow us here and look out for more outreach activities from our @scienceirel funded "BOHEMIAN" Challenge project.
We will also be attending several conferences, near and far in the coming weeks and months!
We were delighted to take part in the @DCUAccess Open Day! @JerryClancy10 gave an engaging presentation on how our work affects everyone, and the important role of microscopy.
Then Jerry and @gemma_davis5 engaged the students in an interactive pollen identification session!
