Irish Pedestrian Network and https://t.co/QXeo8Ncbzn Irish Cycling Advocacy Network call on national government to provide safe space for pedestrians and cyclists across the country during the current crisis as a matter of urgency.
We must lower speed limits and inisist on 30 km/h in residential areas to 30 km/h and give children the freedom and safety they deserve @Dept_Transport@EamonRyan
All Outdoor Dining Permits issued by us are subject to a minimum footpath clearance of 2m (1.8m in select locations). This is to ensure our city remains accessible to all. Any queries or concerns should be directed to [email protected]#CityRecovery#Dublin
Today is the last day to respond to the public survey about @dlrcc's excellent proposal to pedestrianise a small section of Dún Laoghaire town centre for the summer.
We'd encourage everyone to reply to this survey today:

The word "pedestrianised" is getting watered down a lot lately. (South William Street, Merrion Row, Capel Street?)
To pedestrianise means to close a street or area to traffic, making it accessible only to pedestrians.
✖️ "Enhanced pedestrianisation"
✖️ "Part-pedestrianised"
Scenes which you absolutely will not see under the current @DubCityCouncil plans for "pedestrianising" South William Street, which will see the street become an exclusive exit ramp for the @brownthomas car park.

The perspective of parents of small children seems largely absent in the pedestrianisation debate. Probably because most of us are too exhausted and stressed to contribute Here's my two cents. https://t.co/qJz8ThIl8q
General Assembly of United Nations adopts historic resolution calling for 20mph or 30km/h as the default urban/village speed limit where pedestrians and cyclists mix with motors - https://t.co/w1lS6u2jMm
We're proud to release our first Walkability Assessment. It examines the 3 Bridges Walk. We are convinced that with a little work in some key areas, the Walk would be easily and significantly improved.

This is an affront to the pedestrians of Limerick. Last week over 1000 people signed a petition looking for the reallocation of space for pedestrians & cyclists. This week @LimerickCouncil close one of the busiest foothpaths in the city #weneedspace@PedestrianLK@IrishPedestrian
Please sign and support this petition. Across our towns and cities the need for more space will become even greater as restrictions ease. We have a whole summer ahead and people need to get out and move around safely.

"Walking with kids is a big challenge these days. Either we ignore distancing rules or we step the buggy out into traffic. It makes walking feel unsafe."
