On the basis of specific intelligence, Customs officers at IGI Airport, New Delhi booked a case of gold smuggling against one Bangladeshi male passenger who had arrived from Dubai by flight no. 6E-1464 dated 26.06.2026 and landed on 27.06.2026.
The passenger was identified at the International Transfers Area on the basis of his suspicious transit travel pattern and was kept under discreet surveillance. He was subsequently intercepted outside a washroom in the departure area. During questioning, the passenger disclosed that he had concealed three oval-shaped yellow-coloured pouches, wrapped inside a dark blue sock, in the flush-button cavity of the washroom.
Acting on the passenger's disclosure, Customs officers recovered the concealed pouches from the indicated location. The pouches contained gold paste, from which 1,141.5 grams of goldwas extracted. The recovered gold was appraised at a tariff value of ₹1,46,64,211 (approximately ₹1.47 crore).
The recovered gold was seized under the provisions of the Customs Act, 1962, and the passenger was placed under arrest. Further investigation is in progress.@cbic_india@Delhicustoms

On the basis of profiling, Customs officers at IGI Airport, New Delhi detected a case of smuggling of narcotic substances involving two Indian passengers who had arrived from Bangkok by flight no. TG-331 dated 26.06.2026 and landed at Terminal-3, IGI Airport, New Delhi on 27.06.2026.
During X-ray screening of their baggage, suspicious images were observed, further detailed examination resulted in the recovery of a total of nine (09) polythene pouches containing green-coloured narcotic substance suspected to be Hydroponic Weed (Ganja/Marijuana). Of these, seven (07) packets were concealed inside a black-coloured trolley bag, while two (02) packets were recovered from a brown-coloured backpack. The total net weight of the recovered contraband was found to be 15.930 kg.
The recovered substance was subjected to diagnostic testing, which prima facie confirmed it to be Ganja/Marijuana. The estimated illicit market value of the seized narcotic substance is approximately ₹5.56 crore.
Customs officers seized the recovered contraband along with the packing material under the relevant provisions of the NDPS Act, 1985. Both passengers were placed under arrest for their involvement in the offence.

On the basis of profiling, one Indian passenger arriving from Kuala Lumpur was intercepted by Customs officers at the Green Channel of Terminal-3, IGI Airport, New Delhi on June 16. During X-ray screening and detailed examination of two trolley bags carried by the passenger, four (04) packets containing white-coloured powder suspected to be Heroin were recovered. The recovered substance weighed 6,934 grams (net weight) and, upon diagnostic testing, prima facie tested positive for Heroin. The estimated value of the seized contraband is approximately Rs 34.67 crore.
Accordingly, the passenger was arrested under the provisions of the NDPS Act, 1985 and the suspected Heroin along with the packing material was seized. Further investigation is in progress.

The customs officers of IGI airport, New Delhi, have booked a case of smuggling white color NDPS substance. On the basis of profiling, one Indian passenger arriving from Kuala Lumpur by flight no. OD-205 dated 16.06.2026 was intercepted by Customs officers at the Green Channel of Terminal-3, IGI Airport, New Delhi.
During X-ray screening and detailed examination of two trolley bags carried by the passenger, four (04) packets containing white-coloured powder suspected to be Heroin were recovered.
The recovered substance weighed 6,934 grams (net weight) and, upon diagnostic testing, prima facie tested positive for Heroin. The estimated value of the seized contraband is approximately ₹34.67 crore.
Accordingly, the passenger was arrested under the provisions of the NDPS Act, 1985 and the suspected Heroin along with the packing material was seized.

The customs officers of IGI airport, New Delhi, have booked a case of smuggling green color NDPS substance. On the basis of profiling, one Indian passenger arriving from Bangkok by flight no. 6E-1054 dated 09.06.2026 was intercepted by Customs officers at Terminal-3, IGI Airport, New Delhi on 10.06.2026.
During X-ray screening and detailed examination of the passenger's baggage, eight (08) polythene pouches containing green-coloured narcotic substance suspected to be Ganja/Marijuana were recovered from a black-coloured trolley bag.
The recovered substance weighed 6,939.5 grams (net weight) and, upon diagnostic testing, prima facie tested positive for Ganja/Marijuana. The estimated value of the seized contraband is approximately ₹2.43 crore.
Accordingly, the passenger was arrested under the provisions of the NDPS Act, 1985 and the contraband along with the packing material was seized.

During X-ray screening of the passenger's baggage, suspicious images were noticed. Subsequent detailed examination of the baggage resulted in recovery of three (06) vacuum-sealed packets suspected to contain Hydroponic Weed (Ganja) weighing approximately 4045 grams. The market value of the seized hydroponic weed is approx. 1.42 crore.

Customs Foils Major Hydroponic Weed Smuggling Attempt at IGI Airport; 15.38 Kg Narcotics Concealed Inside Geysers Seized
Based on profiling and specific intelligence, Customs officers at IGI Airport, New Delhi, successfully detected and thwarted an attempt to smuggle a large quantity of narcotic substance into India.
Two passengers arriving from Kuala Lumpur by Flight No. D7-182 on 07.06.2026 were intercepted after crossing the Green Channel. During surveillance and examination, officers observed that the passengers were carrying two brand-new geysers in addition to their checked-in baggage.
During sustained interrogation and scrutiny of the suspects' mobile phone communications, officers developed a strong suspicion regarding the contents of the geysers. The appliances were therefore subjected X-ray examination, which indicated the possibility of concealed material hidden within their internal structure.
Subsequent dismantling of both geysers led to the exposure of a highly sophisticated concealment mechanism. Customs officers recovered 145 vacuum-sealed packets ingeniously concealed inside the appliances. Examination of the recovered packets revealed a green leafy substance suspected to be Hydroponic Weed (Ganja).
The total gross weight of the recovered narcotic substance was found to be 15.38 kilograms. The estimated illicit market value of the seized contraband is approximately ₹5.38 crore.
The recovered narcotic substance has been seized under the provisions of the NDPS Act, 1985, and both passengers have been placed under arrest.

The customs officers of IGI airport, New Delhi, have booked a case of smuggling green color NDPS substance. On the basis of profiling, one Indian national passenger travelling from Bangkok to Delhi by flight no. TG-315 dated 03.06.2026 was intercepted after crossing the Customs Green Channel at IGI Airport, New Delhi.
During X-ray screening of the passenger's baggage, suspicious images were noticed. Subsequent detailed examination of the baggage resulted in recovery of six (06) identical vacuum-sealed packets suspected to contain Hydroponic Weed (Ganja) weighing approximately 6.020 kg (net weight). The market value of seized NDPS substance is around 2.10 Cr. The recovery indicated an attempt to smuggle narcotic substances into India through passenger baggage.

Delhi | On the basis of specific intelligence, officers of Customs at IGI Airport, New Delhi, booked a case involving the smuggling of gold in paste form against an Indian male passenger who arrived from Sharjah by Flight No. IX-136 on 01.06.2026.
The passenger was intercepted at the arrival bus gate upon arrival. Simultaneously, a follow-up operation was launched onboard the aircraft to locate and recover the suspected contraband. During a thorough rummaging of the aircraft, Customs officers recovered two black-coloured pouches weighing approximately 3,550 grams from beneath Seat No. 22C, located immediately in front of Seat No. 23C occupied by the suspect passenger.
Subsequent extraction and refining of the seized material resulted in the recovery of 2,755 grams of gold. The recovered gold was appraised at a tariff value of Rs 3,80,48,523.
The recovered gold has been seized under Section 110 of the Customs Act, 1962. The passenger has been arrested under Section 104 of the Customs Act, 1962.

During X-ray screening of the passenger's baggage, suspicious images were noticed. Subsequent detailed examination of the baggage resulted in recovery of three (03) vacuum-sealed packets suspected to contain Hydroponic Weed (Ganja) weighing approximately 1,570 grams. The market value of the seized hydroponic weed is approx. 55 lakhs.

The customs officers of IGI airport, New Delhi, have booked a case of smuggling of green colour NDPS substance. One Indian passenger travelling from Bangkok to Delhi by flight no. 6E-1064 dated 29.05.2026 was intercepted after crossing the Customs Green Channel at IGI Airport, New Delhi.
During detailed examination, the suitcase was found to be unusually heavy. A meticulous inspection led to the detection of specially designed false cavities concealed within the upper and lower sections of the baggage. Hidden inside these cavities, Customs officers recovered two vacuum-sealed packets containing suspected Hydroponic Weed (Ganja) weighing approximately 2.6 kg. The market value of the seized hydroponic weed is approx. 91 lakhs.

Acting on specific profiling inputs and suspicious travel indicators, Customs officers subjected the baggage of both passengers to detailed examination.
Subsequently, a thorough physical examination of the baggage was conducted, which resulted in the recovery of six (06) vacuum-sealed packets suspected to contain Hydroponic Weed (Ganja). Out of the total recovery, four packets weighing approximately 29 kilograms were recovered from the baggage of one passenger, while two packets weighing approximately 19 kilograms were recovered from the baggage of the second passenger. The total quantity of the suspected narcotic substance recovered in the case was approximately 47.805 kilograms(Net weight). The market value of the recoverd NDPS substance is approx 48 Cr.
This is one of the highest seizures in recent times at IGI airport, Delhi.

Delhi | Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) of Customs at Indira Gandhi International Airport intercepted an American national of Indian origin yesterday, recovering 115 gold bars weighing 3,565 grams concealed in specially designed inner pockets of his trousers.
The suspect arrived in New Delhi on Air India flight AI-4174 from San Francisco and was nabbed after he attempted to slip through the Green Channel without declaring the contraband. The contraband has been seized under Section 110 of the Customs Act, 1962, and the passenger has been placed under arrest under Section 104 of the same Act. Further investigations are underway.

#WATCH | Delhi Airport Customs has busted two separate gold smuggling attempts at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport, seizing 233.5 grams of gold from one passenger and 117 grams from the other
According to Customs officials, two Indian male passengers arriving from Jeddah and Doha on May 13 were intercepted after crossing the Green Channel at the airport. The passengers had arrived by Saudi Airlines flight SV-756 and IndiGo flight 6E-1308, respectively. During a detailed examination, Customs officers discovered that the water bottles carried by the passengers had been ingeniously modified with concealed compartments at the base. Circular pieces of raw gold, coated in silver colour to avoid suspicion, were carefully fitted inside the fake bottoms, making detection during routine screening extremely difficult.

The Customs Officers of IGI Airport, New Delhi, have booked a case of smuggling of green coloured NDPS substance suspected to be Ganja/Marijuana concealed in one rose gold colour trolley bag on the basis of profiling of one (01) Indian passenger who arrived on 12.05.2026 by Flight No. 6E-1054 from Bangkok at Terminal-3, IGI Airport, New Delhi.
Subsequently, on examination of the travelling bags carried by the passenger, a total of 04 polythene pouches containing green coloured narcotic substance suspected to be Ganja/Marijuana, totally weighing 4024 grams (net weight), were recovered. The value of the said substance is approximately ₹4.024 crore.
In view of the above, it is evident that the passenger has violated the provisions of Section 8 of the NDPS Act, 1985 and has committed offences punishable under Sections 20, 23 and 29 of the NDPS Act, 1985.
Further, one person who had come to receive the said substance was also apprehended. Accordingly, both the passenger and the receiver were placed under arrest under Section 43(b) of the NDPS Act, 1985 on 12.05.2026.
The green coloured substance suspected to be Ganja/Marijuana, along with the packaging material, has been seized under Section 43(a) of the NDPS Act, 1985.

In a major drug haul at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport, Customs officers have intercepted two passengers arriving from Bangkok and seized nearly 35 kilograms of high-grade hydroponic marijuana, with an estimated value of approximately Rs 34.93 crore.
The operation, carried out by the Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) of Customs at IGI Airport, was triggered by APIS (Advance Passenger Information System) profiling.
