(Astaghfirullah) is the gateway of relief and happiness. Whenever you are in distress start reciting it and Insha Allah it will take you out of your anxiety
@Fahadnaimb Rain repellent is not use on B777 and B787. Last time I saw it was on a B767. If not mistaken with a green stripe on the cylinder, saying it an upgraded version, if the cylinder leak it will be citrus smell as to alert pilots of the leak as the chemical is poisonous (apparently)
With regard to this serious incident, let us have a look at some system features and mitigations on the B787.
a) BRAKES Advisory on the EICAS.
If a dragging brake is detected, the crew get a BRAKES Advisory on the EICAS.
This advisory is inhibited from 80 knots till about 400’ or 20 seconds after lift off.
Which ever is earlier.
b) Incorrect ZFW weight entry in the CDU.
The 787 has two nose gear pressure transducers which provide actual airplane gross weight and CG information.
The nose gear pressure data is used to determine two separate sets of validation limits (one for each transducer).
The FMC calculated stabilizer green band is then compared to the validation limits from the transducers.
The EICAS advisory message STAB GREENBAND is displayed if:
• computed green band disagrees with pressure transducer data
• the two transducer values are not within the set tolerance
What this means is that entering wrong weight data will give a caution.
The crew can still enter a wrong engine derate or assumed temperature.
There are safe guards against incorrect speed entry. She will display the minimum V1, Vr and V2 speeds.
c) Prior to 80 knots, there are 10 conditions for which we must REJECT the take off.
One of the reasons is abnormally slow acceleration.
This is a very ambiguous statement.
In all these years, I have never been “taught” how to identify an abnormally slow acceleration.
@miami_rick has a brilliant hack to this conundrum.
It’s a must read.

@ferandreu1973@miami_rick@trend_nosig Yes I took a good look at the speed trend, green band. A good acceleration is 30kts (average) above your current speed (before V1, that is)
@miami_rick@trend_nosig I tried your 20secs thingy. First time I noticed 80kts exactly on 20sec, second time at 17sec. For almost 30 years as a Capt, I just use my guts feeling for acceleration. My conclusion is around 20secs average (+/-) to get to 80kts. With a headwind t/o it will take less. Safe flt
@HudaMahmud79 Very good observation...watch out all the time during flight these days. Better still keep all your valuables with you the entire flight by having a small pouch/bag
@Turbinetraveler Not normally and we don't call it Standard Operating Procedure for anybody. But there is a term for ATC to say "Expect Late Landing Clearance" to aircraft for an aircraft approaching to land, for any reason by ATC and experience pilots will know normally accept this
