In Q1, XBOX revenue declined 2% YoY, compared with a 10% decline a quarter ago, while our accountability margin improved. Minecraft and WoW Forever set records, Call of Duty had its most acclaimed release in more than a decade, and our PC platform revenue grew double digits. Console sales remain constrained by supply, with more demand than consoles available. We’re working to get more consoles into players’ hands, including through our expanded refurbishment program. We’re making progress, with a lot more work ahead.
SENTINEL is the next chapter of The Elder Scrolls. An incredible way for @BethesdaStudios to mark 40 years of building worlds that speak to millions of players across generations. Congratulations to the team, past and present.
Some things never really die. They just find a new generation of fans.
The @SEGA Dreamcast was one of the most ambitious and forward-thinking consoles of its time. It dared to do things differently, embraced online gaming before the world was ready, and created experiences that still resonate with players today.
I was fortunate to be part of that journey, and the Dreamcast remains a very special chapter in my career. Its commercial life may have been short, but its cultural legacy continues to grow, fuelled by a passionate community that refuses to let it go.
A big thank you to Back Market for exploring the unique afterlife of the Dreamcast and revisiting a remarkable moment in gaming history.
Innovation doesn’t always win in the moment. Sometimes, it takes the world a little longer to catch up.
Long live the Dreamcast! 💙

Today we're standing up XBOX LABS (https://t.co/dJSufI1vni). Here is the note that I sent to the team:
Team,
The first video games emerged some 75 years ago. In the time since, there have been booms and busts, but every year there are more great games to play, more devices to play them, and best of all, more people than ever playing. That growth helped make XBOX what it is today, and we've helped shape the industry in return, from bringing hard drives to consoles and online gaming through Xbox Live to Game Pass and cloud gaming, alongside franchises that have brought millions of people together.
In recent weeks, we've seen games rapidly decompiled and rebuilt to run on hardware they were never originally designed to support. Windows PC builds have been translated to run on Apple Silicon or ported to run inside a browser through WebAssembly and WebGPU, the latter now approaching 90% global browser support. Perhaps more surprisingly, we've seen many of the biggest games in the world have been remixed into the source code of another.
These experiments challenge long-held assumptions about our industry: the tether between software and hardware, the boundary between creation and play, and how people discover and experience games. While it is hard to predict the future of gaming, it is easy to see the possibilities in making great games easier to access, giving old games new life and allowing more players to become creators and co-creators. These are unmistakably good outcomes for players, even when (and sometimes because) they challenge our existing business models.
To explore these possibilities, I’ve asked Scott to stand-up XBOX LABS, a small group of game makers, engineers and scientists whose job is to turn emerging ideas into things our players and developers can experience. We'll build in the open, learn from what people do, and measure success by whether more people are playing and creating.
I think XBOX has an important role to play here. Coding became the first major workload for agents because they can write, run, and test software. Games share many of those same properties, and people spend more than 72 billion hours a year playing XBOX games, roughly five times the estimated time spent writing code worldwide. We've spent 25 years learning how to make great games, and I want our game makers to help shape what these new technologies make possible. As we learn, we’ll share the tools we build with developers across the industry, just as we always have.
Our priorities aren't changing. We remain committed to the 4Cs, to making great games, to our hardware and to being responsible stewards of IP and the communities built around it. LABS gives us a way to explore new technology that is game design led without abandoning the work already underway.

Former PlayStation boss Kaz Hirai had a pretty simple way of dealing with Sony executives: ignore them and do what he thought was best for PlayStation.
During his time leading Sony Computer Entertainment from 2007 to 2012, Hirai says he didn't always follow what Sony's headquarters wanted.
"When Howard [Stringer] and the other executives told me this or that, I went my own way, saying, ‘What the headquarters says is irrelevant. We are PlayStation’"
That generation also gave us games like Uncharted, LittleBigPlanet and Metal Gear Solid 4, which helped make the PS3's library stand out.
Hirai also made a point of regularly visiting PlayStation teams around the world. He says he visited more than 20 countries and nearly 50 cities during his six years as president, returning to show employees that he genuinely cared about their work.
Former co-boss of Rockstar Games Dan Houser doesn't play open world games like GTA anymore, but it's for a good creative reason: he doesn't want to be influenced by them as he works on his two new game projects at his new enterprise, Absurd Ventures. https://t.co/VQbJW2YY16
Thanks a lot @RebelWolvesDevs and @BandaiNamcoEU for the game keys, you made many Arkanites very happy, so please enjoy this little illustration by the amazing @JulesAuger to congratulate you on the release and success of @DawnwalkerGame ! 🗡️🩸🧛🏽♂️
If you are a Halo fan, this is the best news in a decade plus. 💪
Rob Kostich, Dave Stohl, Pat Kelly and team at Activision are rock star, old school game developers. Non-political, no bullshit - just flat out Halo at its best. They are not afraid to take risks and deliver a Halo experience that blows people away and sets the stage for the next 10+ years.
This is the best decision to reset Halo and get a new, hungry team in place to make Halo the incredible asset it is. I can't wait to see them lead their teams and bring Halo back in full force.
Props to Xbox for making this decision. LFG! 🥳
Today, we’re sharing more about the future of Bungie, including our plans for Destiny, Marathon, and how we’re changing the way we work.
