@RedsDaily4 Unfortunately he has a bobblehead night on May 23, so we're stuck with him for 11 more days. Just like Marte, have to deal with it til after the bobblehead 🤦🏻
@PastorTharp We definitely agree! Put it on the bottom shelf. It's the argument many people make that they can tell stories bc Jesus did that gets me riled up lol. Preach the Word!
@PastorTharp Right. And unfortunately, I've been in far too many services where the illustration was the message, with Bible verses only read as the introduction. I just don't like comparing my illustrations with Jesus' illustrations. Everything He said IS the Word! Everything I say isn't.
In tragedy it’s not more political or cultural debate that human hearts need.
Tragic events awaken hearts to the deep spiritual reality of evil, and those hearts yearn to be on the opposite side. Many feel this right now.
Jesus is the opposite side. Give them the true gospel.
The church’s mission is not to provide popular programs - it is to lift up Christ.
The church’s message is not social and political reform - it is the gospel of Christ.
The church’s measure is not attendance or budget - it is likeness to Christ.
CHURCH, IT IS ALL ABOUT CHRIST!
O, I love the Bible! God’s Word is a deep well that never runs dry, a rich mine that never fails to give diamonds, a basket of fresh bread that never stops supplying!
STOP LOOKING FOR A SERMON AND FIND A SCRIPTURE! Dig in it and you will discover more than you can ever explain.
In Jesus day, the Sadducees were theological and political liberals; the Pharisees were theological and political conservatives.
Both were wrong.
You can hold strong positions and fight for a cause, but if you miss Jesus you miss it all.
