@dwarkesh_sp imitation clearly has value, but it limits the student to what already exists. there must be another thing that drives the process of discovery. it's this other thing that Sutton considers fundamental to "learning".
@CJHandmer Is there any way to incentivize recording all this at scale? A stream of images documenting stagnation won't go viral (or be profitable). And I don't think anyone, let alone the media, would pay attention, as the constant reminder is such a huge downer.
@FischerKing64 It's hard to hold an audience while sensibly discussing contemporary issues, the news of the day, modern culture, etc... because you will just end up repeating yourself week after week. But there are lovely and thoughtful podcasts on history, science, the arts.
@cremieuxrecueil poor habits and diet lead to higher cancer rates. the underlying lack of self control would also drive higher opioid usage. is the republican thing just a causal reaction to resulting drug usage in those areas?
@Delicious_Tacos Wow, that sounds pretty great.
But how do I justify this investment knowing that prices will decline as you build more houses?
Oh, what's that you say?
@aelfred_D we don't know that. maybe the film ends with the studio rejecting Stallone for the role, only for him to realize he found something more valuable along the way.
@MartinShkreli but is derangement the cause or the effect? how many of these people do you think lost their shirts shorting telsa, and then lost their minds?
@MartinShkreli ...that quantum stocks will one day exist in a market where they are not priced by baseless speculation but by the content of their qubits.
@Stef_Sartori I kept expecting a lazy Bologna counter attack to cut through our midfield leading to an uncontested cross to an unmarked player... and it never came. you're right, I can't remember a game like this in a while.
