Proud of our work at @RLSAthens calling new Govt to urgently fix dysfunctional resettlement routes for Afghans. Despite years of promises the scheme’s failures “puts lives at risk & cause immense despair, fear & desperation”. Kudos to @sarabi_shamim for her tireless work on this.

I went to Parrs Wood and Leeds Uni, so by rights should have least been offered a cabinet post. Although I was a bit poorly and had a few missed calls last week so that might explain it.
Five people have died. This could & should have been prevented. Instead, our govt tries to distract; to morally & financially bankrupt us with cruel, batshit #RwandaBill nonsense. A shameful and disgusting day for all who care about our shared humanity.
We're on the lookout for a Supervising Lawyer at
@RLSAthens to work within our Afghan Pro Bono Initiative team in London.

Today I get to pay $300 to take a 3-hour English test in order to be eligible to stay in the country where I am employed to teach English language courses at an English language institution, a prerequisite for which was the PhD I earned at an English language university.
Why you might wonder has the UK Govt not set-up a scheme for the family members of refugees in Gaza? (i.e., a bespoke family reunion scheme)
The answer appears to be the Govt hasn't even bother to think about it: [?] https://t.co/Hf9cK2iqzS
Brilliant event - an incredibly moving and essential conversation. Immense gratitude is owed to all of the speakers. The strength and courage to be able to talk about it all, and to do so without flinching seems impossible to fathom.
