@SherriffsLuke A school time management schedule made it easier to lower my stress. This allowed time for me to hang with friends & play music. WellTrack revealed that I am more stressed during schooling. When I manage my workload my stress levels are decreased tremendously.#HKR1000
In #HKR1000 I learned about ways to manage stress. For me during the pandemic I started to go for walks & play guitar to clear my mind & I found it very helpful. The data presented in my WellTrack shows that after I had gone for a walk or played guitar my stress levels decreased.
@Svillamar461 I don’t think Canadian artists need the quota anymore. There are numerous ways of becoming famous in the music industry such as TikTok & YouTube. Technology is becoming increasingly popular in the music industry today, and helping Canadians gain more exposure. #POPMUSF21
@LiamHeneburyMUN I disagree, Canada needs no help when it comes to having our talent recognized. Over the years Canada has had popular groups such as Rush & The Tragically Hip, both of which were famous worldwide. These artists over the years have put Canada on the map with pop music #POPMUSF21
Currently the CRTC states that 35% of all popular music aired must be of Canadian origin. Canada is producing more artists every year, giving stations easier access to Canadian music. With artists as talented as Drake, Canada needs less help on the world stage. #POPMUSF21
@ShannonAtMun Lack of proper nutrition, less movement, stress & poor sleep affected overall wellness. This pandemic limited people’s interpersonal interactions which lead to increased anxiety & depression. If sitting too much is affecting you try to get a few mins of movement hourly.#HKR1000
This article examines gardening & the strain it exerts on the body. It is important to keep good posture, use proper tools & stand correctly to avoid back pain. As we learned in #HKR1000 a healthy weight, regular exercise & stretching 2-3 times a week can help reduce injury risk.
@brooklynmun I agree. People may not want to listen to live music because of the raw sound of it. You will hear mistakes from instruments and voices but I believe that’s what makes it special. #POPMUSF21
@nathantucker709 You make a very good point here. Technologies such as auto tune have an effect on a voice in the studio rather than modifying it live. You hear a lot more auto tune in today’s music but not so much music of the past. #POPMUSF21
I think Wald’s assessment is true. Pop fans would like to listen to their favourite artists songs than a cover of it. New technologies have played a big role in the way people perceive music today. Live music is not what it used to be because it’s not as clean sounding.#POPMUSF21
@SE_MUS2011 I agree with this. The songs covered were generally wrote and performed by black artists. Artists like Pat Boone covered these and ended up outselling the original. #POPMUSF21
@Vjvincent12 I agree with this. Schlock music may be covers or “knock offs” but it may still hold some value to some listeners. This may be because it was the version of the song they heard first. It also could be a good version of the song like “This flight tonight” by Nazareth. #POPMUSF21
Schlock artists were guilty of cultural theft in my opinion. Pat Boone is a great example for cultural theft, he built his career covering R&B songs for conservative white audiences. He did a cover of “Tutti Frutti” & managed to outsell the original by Little Richard.#POPMUSF21
@altuckermun The low percentage rate of smokers & tobacco users could be because of increased education, knowledge & awareness of the risks & dangers associated. Such as a variety of cancers, heart disease & deaths. Also, stigma is connected to this behaviour and often frowned upon. #HKR1000
Living through a pandemic, I’m not surprised that 64.71% of our classmates feel as if they need more sleep. Start small by incorporating 5-10 minutes of meditation & relaxation techniques like belly breathing, music & visualization to help improve your overall wellness. #HKR1000
It’s interesting how Indiana Jones influenced people to become Archaeologists despite being a looter to a trained eye. It’s the same premise as Grey’s Anatomy influencing young women to go into medicine. Archaeology brought to the masses through the lens of pop culture. #ARCH1000
@sarahpow2020 I totally agree with you. Charles was a influential figure in blues music. I think the break he uses in his voice coveys the emotion he is trying to get across to the listeners. #POPMUSF21
