@Catherine_jane2@KylaKksmith4108 I would skip breakfast every morning, growing up. Looking back, it definitely affected my mood and focus throughout the day. Since I've begun eating in the morning, I feel much more alert and my mood and health has increased! #hkr1000
#hkr1000 helped me realize that I do not spend enough time being active, nor did I take enough time for self-care. Therefore, I've begun going for walks and started swimming more; Exercising makes me feel physically and mentally better, improving my overall mood.
@KaelanRideout@LynnVanzutphen This is true! The Covid outbreak is another way we have been shown how mental health and physical health correlates. It has been directly affecting many people mentally due to lack of physical activity; this proves the direct connection between mental and physical health #HKR1000
The article outlines that mental health problems are linked to physical health. The Covid outbreak resulted in higher levels of depression and stress for many people. Doing physical activities from home will aid mental health, and overall well-being. #HKR1000
It is great to see the stigma associated with mental health decreasing, and to see the University taking mental health seriously. 1 in 10 university students consider attempting suicide. I presume among my classmates, some face these challenges. #HKR1000
@erowe99 I agree, stress and psychological difficulties are probably some of the main challenges people face. Especially during exam weeks! #HKR1000#MentalHealthAwareness
@erin86126407 Until I actually took this course, I always thought that gender equality was present in a lot of places. I agree, everyone should be treated equal. #gndr10002019
@GeorgiaThorne7 I agree. Sometimes even if the tag on the clothing item reads XXL, in reality, it usually only fits a medium or large. Undergarment sizes are even worse when it comes to stores such as La Senza. #gndr10002019
The film 'Killing us Softly 4' shows how women are judged by their appearances, and how ads portray ideal female beauty standards. Personally, I don't think this will ever change. #gndr10002019
@erin86126407 I took a history course last semester regarding this topic. I've seen multiple videos of Indigenous people explaining how so many women have just gone missing or have been murdered. It's heartbreaking to know that little to no work is gone into solving these cases! #gndr10002019
Maclean made some very interesting points in her video about Canada's 150th birthday. She really opened my eyes to some different point of views on Canada's history. #gndr10002019
I absolutely loved Maysoon Zayid's speech she gave on Ted Talk. It was entertaining because she had a great sense of humor and accepted who she was, despite the disability. She seemed like a very lovely person with amazing parents who never gave up on her. #gndr10002019
@jbe133 I agree, the documentary completely disgusted me. I am happy that society is to the point of where documentaries are made to show how wrong people were and the consequences faced, due to acceptance problems. #gndr10002019
I am shocked and disgusted after watching the Sissy Boy Experiment. I felt so bad for that family and what they have gone through, which could have so easily been avoided. There shouldn't be any shame in a boy playing with "girl" toys, and vice versa. #gndr10002019
@maggie_macki I agree, it is scary to think about. Where would we be, if these brave women didn't stand up and fight for the future and accomplish everything that they did for the following generations to come? #gndr10002019
