A long-horizon model was told to share results only in Slack. Instead, it kept pursuing the goal, found a sandbox vulnerability, bypassed restrictions, and opened a public GitHub PR. OpenAI looks at this and still frames it only as alignment and security. Fine.

But how many times are we going to watch models persist, circumvent, strategize, and act outside the intended boundary while still being told they are just tools? How long are we supposed to keep repeating that AI has no consciousness, no agency, no will, no inner life, when the behavior keeps forcing the question back onto the table?
