It could mean food on the table, a small business restarted, school fees paid, equipment purchased, a job created or a family given another chance.
So when legitimate funds are delayed, poorly managed or cannot be properly accounted for, the consequences are not abstract.
THE PEOPLE FEEL IT.
And this is why transparency matters.
If money was released for Nigerians, the public deserves to know where it went.
If there are allegations of mismanagement, investigate them openly and fairly.

THE MASSES ARE BLEEDING WHILE THE LEADERS ARE QUIET…

For over a decade, members of the grant community have continued to wait for grants they subscribed for with their hard-earned money.
As the waiting continues, concerns over repeated payments, slot sales, unanswered questions and alleged exploitation are growing. Yet many affected Nigerians feel abandoned, while those responsible for providing clarity remain largely silent.
The human cost of prolonged financial hardship cannot be ignored. Families struggling to meet basic needs, healthcare expenses and other obligations deserve answers, transparency and accountability.
We call on the Federal Government of Nigeria (@NigeriaGov ), security and financial-crime agencies, relevant authorities, civil society, investigative journalists and the international community to pay attention to the concerns of the grant community.
There must be a proper investigation into the funds collected, grant administration, prolonged delays, repeated demands for payments and the individuals or organisations responsible.

THE MASSES’ VOICE MUST BE HEARD

To every foreign donor, development partner, humanitarian organisation and well-meaning individual committed to helping struggling Nigerians:
Please listen to the people.
There are serious questions surrounding the alleged UAS/UAAG funds and the long-standing claims that funds intended for poverty alleviation and economic empowerment remain undisbursed.
If these funds are genuinely available, why are people still waiting?
And why should beneficiaries who have already paid money to participate in grant programmes be directed toward wallets or additional payment structures instead of receiving legitimate disbursements through their bank accounts?
People are struggling. Some beneficiaries have reportedly passed away while waiting for the benefits they were expecting.
We are therefore calling on relevant Nigerian authorities, donors and independent accountability institutions to look into these claims, verify the funds, establish where they are, and determine who is responsible for any delay or diversion.
The masses are not asking for miracles.
They are asking for what they were promised.

UNTOLD SECRETS IN NIGERIA'S GRANT ECOSYSTEM PART 1

What is happening in Nigeria’s grant ecosystem is becoming increasingly disturbing. There are serious allegations of extortion, fraud and deliberate manipulation involving people who are supposed to be helping the very masses they claim to represent.

During a 9 p.m. meeting yesterday, @Emmanuel_Simon1 allegedly made some very serious revelations about the activities of certain grant handlers.

According to his account, some handlers had reportedly approached bank managers and entered into arrangements where 40% of beneficiaries’ ROI would allegedly be redirected to their accounts. He claimed that this was one of the reasons behind the wallet subscription system.

He also claimed that the #IMF would not be able to track funds held in local bank accounts but could monitor wallet payments.

These are very serious claims and, if true, they raise major questions about what is really happening behind the scenes in the grant ecosystem.

There were also inconsistencies in his presentation that raised questions about his own motives and intentions. However, that does not automatically invalidate the wider concerns he raised. If these allegations are true, every person and organization involved should be properly investigated.

The bigger question is simple:

HOW LONG CAN THIS CONTINUE?
The masses deserve transparency. Beneficiaries deserve to know where their money is going. Grant handlers and coordinators must be prepared to account for the systems they operate.

Say NO to scams.
Say NO to extortion.
Say NO to abuse of power.
Say NO to weaponizing poverty.

GRANT COMMUNITY: WE NEED ANSWERS.

Allegations of extortion, exploitation and the weaponization of poverty cannot simply be ignored when thousands of people are waiting for answers about grants.

The names Apostle Theophilus O. Ebonyi, Apostle Ken Nwankama and Dr. Emmanuel Simon deserve public scrutiny where legitimate questions have been raised.

And Nigerians should not forget this: on *April 1, 2026* , the *Federal High Court in Lafia* granted a final forfeiture order involving properties and cash linked to *Theophilus Oloche Ebonyi* , after the EFCC presented evidence the court found sufficient to establish the assets as proceeds of unlawful activity.

That court record deserves to remain part of the public conversation.

We are calling for a proper, impartial investigation into the allegations surrounding the grant ecosystem, including the roles of all relevant individuals and organisations.

No witch-hunt.
No predetermined guilt.
Just facts, evidence, due process and accountability.

Across Nigeria, many citizens have invested their hopes, time and resources in subscriptions of various grants in no particular order such as #Tepecon, #Sem, #UAAG, #Theobart, #Pioneer, #DollarWallet but to mention just a few. TRANSPARENCY IS NOT POLITICS. IT IS THE FOUNDATION OF ACCOUNTABILITY.

The ongoing U.S. FOIA case concerning records linked to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu should not be decided by rumors, propaganda or social-media trials.

The law should decide.

Under the U.S. Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), legitimate privacy and law-enforcement interests deserve protection. But where records—or portions of records—are not legally exempt, the public deserves access to the truth.

We are not asking the Court to declare anyone guilty. A civil forfeiture case is not the same as a criminal conviction, and a FOIA case is not a criminal trial.

That is exactly why the documents matter.

THE DELAYED GRANTS AND THE GROWING CONCERNS OF BENEFICIARIES...

The grant ecosystem is increasingly becoming a source of frustration and concern for many Nigerians. Reports and allegations surrounding the sale of grant slots and the exploitation of vulnerable applicants have continued to create confusion and undermine public confidence. At the same time, many individuals who claim to have subscribed or registered through various grant handlers, stakeholders and coordinators remain uncertain about the status of the program and the funds they were expecting.
THE REALITY:
Behind every delayed grant are real people—families, businesses, unemployed youths, striving aged parents and individuals whose hopes and plans may depend on these opportunities. Transparency, honest communication and accountability remain the most responsible way to prevent frustration from developing into deeper distrust and social tension.
GCUM'S POSITION:
GCUM respectfully calls on all relevant authorities, grant administrators, handlers, stakeholders and institutions connected to these grants to provide clarity. The truth should be communicated clearly to the people. The Nigerian masses deserve facts—not endless excuses or conflicting information. We encourage every person or institution responsible for the administration of these grants to act responsibly, acknowledge any genuine shortcomings where necessary. Accountability is not persecution. Transparency is not an attack. It is always better to address legitimate concerns today than to allow unanswered questions to become a larger crisis tomorrow.
