republicans claiming he would use the stage to make an anti-american political statement just for the entire performance to be a celebration of life and culture and family oh bad bunny they could never make me hate you
her instinctually opening her wrist for the “nope-alite” because those self-sabotage cognitive patterns run DEEP, while he recognizes what it is and saves them from going back to separate lonely lives of chronically unreciprocated vulnerability… this is cinema
My favorite part about writing is that first spark of an idea. It can happen at any time, for any reason. The idea for the Opalite music video crash landed into my imagination when I was doing promo for The Life of a Showgirl. I was a guest on one of my favorite shows, @TheGNShow. For those of you who aren’t familiar, it’s a UK late night show where Graham Norton (the insanely charismatic and lovable host) invites a random group of actors, entertainers, musicians, etc to be on his show and we all sit there and chat like it’s a dinner party. They even serve wine. Anyway. I remember thinking I got ridiculously lucky with the group I was paired with. Cillian Murphy, Domhnall Gleeson, Greta Lee, Jodie Turner-Smith, and @LewisCapaldi. All people whose work I’ve admired from afar. When we were all talking during the broadcast, Domhnall made a light hearted joke about wanting to be in one of my music videos. He’s Irish! He was joking! Except that in that moment during the interview, I was instantly struck with an *idea*. And so a week later he received an email script I’d written for the Opalite video, where he was playing the starring role. I had this thought that it would be wild if all of our fellow guests on the Graham Norton show that night, including Graham himself, could be a part of it too. Like a school group project but for adults and it isn’t mandatory. To my delight, everyone from the show made the effort to time travel back to the 90’s with us and help with this video. You might even recognize some friendly faces from The Eras Tour. I got to work with one of my favorite people in the world, Rodrigo Prieto, again! I had more fun than I ever imagined - Made new friends, metaphors, and fashion choices. It was an absolute thrill to create this story and these characters. Shot on film. The Opalite video is out now on Spotify & Apple Music.

The way y’all have asked this man 100 questions about his retirement, but not once had the courage to get in Andy’s face and ask why his play calling has been dog shit for the last three seasons—especially this one—why his coaching staff has been negligent in developing players, why Xavier Worthy still lacks situational awareness for the sidelines, why Pacheco can barely get past 5 yards on a run, why Jawaan Taylor is still the most penalized player in the league and keeps making the same mistakes over and over (that’s a coaching problem), why Chris Jones has been dog shit this year after getting that massive contract, and why Harrison Butker—who used to be number one in his position—is now leading the league in missed field goals. Instead of asking Travis Kelce endless retirement questions, do your fucking job, ask the right ones, and stop complaining about “why Travis doesn’t want to talk to the media.”
“I, uh...” Ilya waited for the words. I’m seeing someone. I’m engaged. I don’t need you anymore. “I hired a personal stylist.”
For a moment, there was silence. Then Ilya burst out laughing. “Fvck off!” he said, delighted.

Some of you have forgotten that only three years ago you were perfectly capable of writing a text, writing an email, telling a bedtime story to a child, and it should worry you that powerful companies have convinced us we can’t do things we’ve been doing since the dawn of time.
So the point of animal farm is not that an outside evil corrupts a movement, but that evil can rise even within a good cause because power is corrupting …
They want you scared of outside threats, not home grown corruption. How Orwellian to corrupt George Orwell like this.
