@Ketaczak 1) I completed all of my homework assignments in my Arabic class on time, in addition to watching all the films assigned for this class.
2) I miss the beautiful green grass and so many outdoor spaces to relax and get homework done or just hang out with friends!

I’ve had many great memories in college so far, but my favorite would have to be my parents’ surprise visit for me during Mother’s Day weekend and getting to see them for a couple days! Two weekends after, my best friends from CA flew out to visit me as well! #writ1133du37
I’m most looking forward to going back home to California and going on new adventures around the state with my best friends in the summer!! :) #writ1133du37
ST: Beaufort brings an interesting point about how transfer learning is very complex to teach, and students may lack motivation to apply it elsewhere. Identifying habits of mind and intrinsic motivation are key to understanding how to best support students with it. #writ1133du37
@josieal33762991 I agree! I think if I’m able to really focus on reflection more in my personal life it will be easier to transfer over into my academic life! #writ1133du37
@Ketaczak I have learned that I tend to get easily distracted when doing my online classes in my room, so I’ve grown to really appreciate doing schoolwork outside during nice weather or in a different setting. I feel more productive & get away from being stuck to my room :) #writ1133du37
@colleenwrit1133 I do too! I’ve only really used MLA up until I got to college, so having the opportunity to learn more about APA in this class can definitely be beneficial when other professors ask me to use it in future classes. #writ1133du37
One thing from this class I hope to transfer forward is feeling more confident with challenging my style of writing. I’ve learned a lot about what works and doesn’t work for me so far, and being able to push past this will ultimately help better me as a writer. #writ1133du37
Something that I’ve transferred from my high school Criminal Justice class to my Arabic class now is being open-minded and considerate about sensitive topics from other people’s cultures, which makes for a more inclusive environment for everyone to be apart of. #writ1133du37
@josieal33762991 That’s awesome! I really want to start journaling more often, and it’s great to know that it’s helped you reflect and grow more in your personal life! #writ1133du37
@colleenwrit1133 I agree. I’m a lot better with reflecting on things in my own life compared to an academic setting! I think it’ll be nice to get some practice in on academic reflections to help me in the future for other assignments. #writ1133du37
I’m most reflective when I’m outdoors or spending some time outside by myself. I’m able to reflect on anxious thoughts that I haven’t gotten the chance to fully process, and deconstruct worries and insecurities I may have as well. #writ1133du37
ST: My favorite part about Hickson’s article was when she talked about how reflection has helped her learn about how to deconstruct assumptions about control, change and uncertainty. It allowed her to become more confident analyzing her beliefs at a deeper level. #writ1133du37
@Ketaczak I’ve learned to remember to have the person I interview sign the IRB, and make sure to ask the person you plan to observe for their permission! #writ1133du37
@Ketaczak I’ve already started to send out my survey and have scheduled an interview time with the person I wanted to interview! Just need to figure out who I’m going to observe and ask for their permission! #writ1133du37
