Both suffer from chronic illnesses and have endured previous surgeries. Every day is a struggle. On June 13, The Sameer Project responded to their appeal that we heard while carrying out a distribution in their camp. Mazyoun was exhausted from carrying her husband, with her own poor health, collapsing on the floor for rest. We provided a tent, a bed and mattress, and a food parcel to help restore a measure of safety, dignity, and comfort. The total cost was $580 after 11% commission.

For many families, aid is about having a place to sleep, protection from the elements, and food for the days ahead - and most importantly even, it means that someone cares.

As funding continues to decline, we are forced to make difficult choices about who we can help and when. But vulnerable families like Ismail and Mazyouna remind us why this work matters.
