I am honored to have received the Pounamu, also known as greenstone, from the New Zealand cricket team.
Gifting pounamu in Aotearoa is a tradition rooted in manaakitanga (hospitality) and the sharing of one’s blessings. This tradition has been carried through to the modern day.
Travis Head and Mitch Marsh will now both miss at least the start of the Bangladesh ODI series, meaning Josh Inglis will continue to captain Australia.

Somos horribles. ❌
There is no way a team hits 287/1 (20) against Oman. I looked into and realized there are some random 8 Al Balushis featuring for Oman that I have never heard of.
Only 1 familiar name in the XI.
Bangladesh, el país más argentino del planeta, acaba de ganarle 2-1 a San Marino de visitante.
Miles de bangladesíes celebran en las tribunas de la Serenísima República.
Bangladesh 🇧🇩 beat San Marino 🇸🇲 by 2-1 margin. Topu Barman scoring both goals. A landmark moment in Bangladesh football as they win in Europe for the first time. Thomas Dooley's grand start as the coach.

Thirteen years ago, Brothers Union's payment problem kept Sean Ervine and Sean Williams stranded in a Dhaka hotel. Today, the same club's lack of payment forces its cricketers to concede a walkover in the DPL.

JOINT MCC–ICC STATEMENT ON THE LORD’S PITCH FOR THE 1ST TEST BETWEEN ENGLAND AND NEW ZEALAND
For Immediate Release
The Marylebone Cricket Club and the International Cricket Council have concluded a thorough, exhaustive, and entirely disproportionate review of the pitch used for the First Test between England and New Zealand at Lord’s.
Following detailed analysis involving former players, current players, groundskeepers, meteorologists, historians, economists, three retired colonels, and a gentleman who once watched cricket from a bus stop in 1978, the panel has determined that the surface was “not quite right.”
While no consensus was reached on precisely how it was not quite right, members agreed that “something should be done”.
After considering the possibility of sanctioning England, New Zealand, Lord’s, the weather, gravity, and the concept of grass itself, the ICC has elected to apply the standard administrative remedy:
World Test Championship Points Deductions — Effective immediately:
India: -12 WTC points
Pakistan: -8 WTC points
Sri Lanka: -6 WTC points
Bangladesh: -125 WTC points
The panel agreed that Bangladesh’s deduction should be larger because “that’s how these things usually seem to work.”
