Today was a great day. The sun shone, people were happy. But- and there was only ONE but for me today, and that hung over me for the majority of the day. One bill for £38.20, ended up being one of my worst experiences in hospitality to date.#hospitality #CustomerService

As a Scandinavian who would never contemplate sending my children away this has been an often uncomfortable and difficult discussion for me to be part of but increasingly it seems those who lived the experience as part of British ‘tradition’ are speaking the same language too.

50 years ago tonight, I spent my first ever night away from my family. I was 8, & I’d been sent away to boarding school. It was part of a family tradition. 12 September 1972 has been with me ever since. I have 7 children. None of them have been forced to go to boarding school.
