Grinding out at-bats.

Launch Angle?

Amazing teams will do when they HAVE to win the game.

“We are not here for egos… we are here to win a ring.” How refreshing…. 90% of travel teams, 70% of HS teams, and 50% of college teams… could take a hard lesson from the best!

Good coaches change how players play.
Great coaches change how players think.

📢 FALL IN LOVE WITH THE WORK!

Western Kentucky Head Coach Marc Rardin has a message for players who want to separate themselves: You have to love the work as much as, or more than, you love playing the game.

When others take time off, keep working. When others get comfortable, keep improving.

Because the better you become, the more you’ll enjoy playing the game.

⛔️Don’t just put in the work when everyone else does.
✅Put in the work when they don’t. THAT’S how you separate yourself.

[Greg Berge @GregBerge]

Bob Chesney nailed it.

“It’s a build. It has to be done the right way. It has to be done the hard way.”

There are no shortcuts to building a great program.

You build it through daily habits, clear standards, and a culture that lives those standards.

It’s the process.

Not only should this be part of the All-Star break, but Ichiro should compete in it every single year so that modern TTO hitters can see what real bat control looks like

Game 2 final: Western Kentucky 8, Mississippi State 7

[Trent Mongero @CoachMongero]

Baseball is played by humans. Thus …. The group of humans with the most tools (skills) in their physical and mental tool box…. Including heart, toughness, bounce back, and will to win, can beat teams exponentially more talented.

The game is beautifully designed like that. The best teams are managed by experienced humans who have a 6th sense about when and what buttons to press. Who also has the complete respect of their players.

They trust their leader … who does what is best for the team. He is not ruled by a his player’s large contracts or long list of analytical numbers. Thus he is not a robot being told every move to make….

**Of course the numbers can help those decisions… but not always. Sometimes winning means going away from “the script.”

The organizations that get back to the human element and find skilled “gamers” who compete their tails off and also give their managers freedom “to manage” will be the toughest to beat. So much so, that billion dollar rosters can be swept in the Championship series to get to the World Series….

[Brad Stulberg @BStulberg]

A small market team with less Instagram followers than most B-rate influencers is going to the World Series. In an age of money and the enshitification of everything, the Brewers are exactly what we need right now.

Far more range than Trent Grisham

[Super 70s Sports @Super70sSports]

This is incredible. Willie Mays shows off better range on Old-Timers’ Day at age 50 than some big leaguers in their primes. The crack of the bat flipped a switch and Willie thought he was at the Polo Grounds again for about five seconds. Legend.

Analytics plays such a big role in today's game and a lot of it helps today's players. I'm not against it. Where I think it falls short is in the evaluation of a player, Projections. Some guys jump off the page analytically but you just can't win with them. Find me "Winning Players".

[Next Level Baseball @nextlevelbb]

The Brewers and Rays have a magic formula.
Basic fundamentals and unselfish players.
The majority of other organizations would rather lose trying to outsmart the competition with space station lunacy and scientific jargon.

[Next Level Baseball @nextlevelbb]

Players
You have to want to play.
You have to want to compete.
You have to love playing and competing.
It does not matter if it is a pool play game, championship game, consolation game, 8 AM or 7 PM, 40 degrees or 100 degrees.
You have to love playing and competing.
Winners want to.
Competitors compete.
They have no conditions.
They have the eye of the tiger every time they step on the field.
It does not matter if it is a high school game, college game, intersquad game, consolation game, back yard pick up game, or a college world series game.
They bring it every time they step on the field.
Meaningless games do not exist in their world.

[Coach AJ 🎯 Mental Fitness @coachajkings]

Mike Leach shares a must-listen postgame message on resilience, adversity, and failure.

"Nothing is really, really, really fun unless it's hard. Nothing is really fun unless it's hard."

"We've got to embrace that things are gonna be hard. We've got to embrace to be excited when things are hard."

Successful people don't fear obstacles - they embrace them.

"You gotta embrace to be excited about it being hard and playing extremely hard."

"Even if you get way up on somebody, you want to be as hard as you possibly can because you're pushing yourself. And all of a sudden you're making great plays, you're doing things that you've never done before."

Growth requires discomfort. You have to be willing to look bad before you get better.

Then he ended with one line:
"Embrace the fact that it's hard. Never hope that it's easy."

If you only chase what's easy, you'll never become great.

Embrace the hard because that is where growth, success, and character are built.

[Jon Gordon @JonGordon11]

Adversity will come. Change will happen. Adversity will strike.

The question is: how will you learn and grow from it.

Successful people turn LOSS into a learning opportunity and stay strong.

As you learn and stay strong you grow and create greater success.
